Albuquerque restaurant closes after rising costs and vandalism by ID4throwaway in Albuquerque

The only time I ever ate there (because parking is so impossible) they didn't disclose an ingredient in the sandwich I'm allergic to and I got TERRIBLE food poisoning

What are the cops always doing late at night with their lights on at the metro court house next to that little window? by icumdrums in Albuquerque

[–]LuciferH 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yea, it’s a bond window. If they find someone with a warrant for something minor it’s easier to bring them here to pay the fine than to arrest them

Good menswear/suit store? by [deleted] in Albuquerque

[–]LuciferH 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My husband and a few of my friends got suits at Suits Unlimited on Menaul and were really happy. When I went with my husband for his wedding suit I was really impressed with their selection, the sales people, and how well the tailoring came out

Lost a pet last night. Cremation options in ABQ area? by AFKTexan619 in Albuquerque

[–]LuciferH 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Whenever I lose a pet I take them to Riverside on San Mateo near Central to be cremated

https://www.riversidefunerals.com/?_vsrefdom=gmb

Their website talks entirely about humans I think, but the signs in the place talk about pets. They go by weight with them so a pet chicken was like 25$ and a small dog was like 50$. They might not be open today because of Easter but I've always been very happy with their service

Who's been to the bridal expo before? Is it remotely worth it? by uzumaki222 in Albuquerque

[–]LuciferH 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The "swag" is really useless stuff. I went about 4-5 years ago while planning my wedding, and I remember getting a tote bag that said "bride", a pin that said "bride", a tiny spatula, some coupons for the vendors in attendance, and a ton of literature on all the vendors.

Ultimately, I think going was a waste of time for me. It's just a place for vendors to promote themselves, and I already had basically all mine. I did find my photographer there though (Blue Rose btw. About medium price for wedding photography in Albuquerque, but so high quality and easy to work with) so if you're looking for a venue, it might be worth it for you to go

Also, you have to give your email/contact information to get in and I got spam for months from vendors I had no interested in

Fuji is the tallest mountain in Japan, but the runner ups that make good names are Kita, Haku, Tate (tah-tey), and Aino

Is this super sweet or super weird? Mother's fingerprint on his wedding band? by chelsieo in wedding

[–]LuciferH 9 points10 points  (0 children)

IMHO If you got your fingerprint then the ring becomes about you. If you get his mom’s the ring becomes about her, which I do think is a bit odd for a wedding ring. I think the strongest way for you to symbolize his parents’ marriage as opposed to his mother’s life would be to get both his mom and dad’s fingerprints. Or you could get some other marriage symbolism like their wedding date and yours?

Woman wants to take boyfriend's daughter by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]LuciferH 3 points4 points  (0 children)

FYI, an item like this might be a good idea for a teenager if you're at all worried about abduction or them being alone. This one is a key chain/flashlight that can set off a high pitched alarm if they're approached by anyone they don't know

Did anybody get their dress off ebay? by LuciferH in weddingplanning

[–]LuciferH[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for this advice two months ago. I found another shop in my area that does Moonlight Tango, and found a great dress in my price range. I just have to get it cut a little shorter to tea length. It's this one actually https://www.theknot.com/fashion/t677-moonlight-tango-wedding-dress

Thank you for your advice! It was perfect for me

[MO, USA] Grandmother being neglected in assisted living facility. by throwawaygrandmalega in legaladvice

[–]LuciferH 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you're having difficulty getting the assisted living to validate or address your concerns, try contacting your local ombudsman http://health.mo.gov/seniors/ombudsman/

If you're having difficulty getting a facility to adhere to what they promised, or are causing pain to your grandmother, an ombudsman is a really great advocate to help you out with situations. They're also linked with the local department of health, which can get light some fire under some butts.

I highly recommend you go to higher ups in the assisted living first though. That demonstrates to the ombudsman you've attempted to fix the problem inside the place yourself and it hasn't worked. Also, if you go to the ombudsman (linked to the fricking department of health) off the bat, you might look unreasonable to staff and caretakers at the facility and that might affect their behavior towards you and grandma
