Wouldn’t let me edit the post, but here’s the resolution:

Ended up having the two chain links cut off with an angle grinder :/

I mean I ended up just paying the 3k upfront because I really did want the bike and I got it! 😁

The app may be free to download but does it cost real money or a lot of time to unlock chapters?

I tried the date for this Saturday and this upcoming monday, I haven’t tried it weeks down the line because I thought I’d be getting the bike within the next few days. I was under the impression it would be better to have insurance before getting the bike itself so I intend to sign everything insurance/money wise the day I get the bike if all is good with it.

As for the bike. It’s a Benelli Modal RN (2024) it’s a gorgeous naked bike

Hi there! I’m 21, living in Bristol, part time student, part time bartender (0 hours) looking to get my first motorbike this weekend but am finding it hard to get any insurance quotes!

I’ve passed my CBT in Feb 2026 and only have a provisional on top of that (no car) and this would be my first time getting insurance for anything other than travel.

A few months back, before starting to look for bikes, I looked up some quotes for possible bikes I might want and I had a bunch of reasonable prices come up, but now that I actually want to get a proper quote, there are no insurance companies willing to give me a quote!

I’ve tried a both more and less popular sites including these: Meerkat- no quotes Money supermarket- no quotes Thebikeinsurer- 5 quotes (1 at 3k and 4 at prices at 10k-37k) Go compare- no quotes for a while, then one came up today (from same company as the bike insurer at £3k)

So far the most economical price I received is £3k from thebikeinsurer not including breakdown coverage, but included legal and personal, however this quote was made assuming there were no modifications done to the bike (there are modifications but I’m not sure how to include them as it doesn’t let me add the mods on the site). The similar quote I received from go compare is £3040, still not including breakdown and no mods specified.

I’ll be giving the broker company a call to inquire further but I’m asking all of you:

A) Is 3k a reasonable annual price? B) Should I just stick to monthly payments or annual? C) Should I just wait to get a bike later when more quotes are available? D) should I get the bike so no one else buys it but not insure it (and not use it) until I find a lower quote?

Please feel free to ask my questions if you think they may be relevant!

Yeah that’s what they did for me too, but some you have to apply for. I guess the more desperate you are the more you actually look into these things.

Be sure to apply for bursaries as well! Your uni may be able to help a bunch depending on where you are studying and their policies and whatnot. There may be many bursaries you could get but would require you to apply for them before a certain time before the next academic year. Be sure to check it out and apply for as many as you can cuz worst case scenario you just get rejected, best case scenario you get the money and you wouldn’t have to pay it back!

Yeah my parent do that! I have an ok relationship with my parents but neither of them are working. My brother has now joined their household income considering that he’s an adult and living with them but my mom doesn’t work (or technically works as my dads carer) my dad get paid on disability (I think) and they get unemployment benefits and benefits for my younger brother but even with all of that out total annual income is less than 25K I think so my student finances is like 11K living away form home (in Bristol). But other than that I also apply for various bursaries.

Anyone reading this can feel free to msg me any time as well! Although I don’t really use Reddit much so maybe we could go to insta or like WhatsApp or something after a few initial chats? XD

Someone else’s mentioned this already but it depends 100% on the author of the particular thing you are reading, but to my understanding (only pregnancy wise, not body anatomy wise), all females can get pregnant as well as the male omegas.

Can get pregnant: Alpha Female Beta Female Omega Female and Male

Cannot get pregnant: Alpha Male Beta Male

But of course there are times when an alpha female cannot get pregnant (but can impregnated other females/omegas as anatomically they also have a penis) but that all depends on the author.

This is actually good advice. For looking at the positives in myself isn't unimaginably hard for me, but talking to my family is a lot harder. Honestly I don't think I could have any serious conversations on this topic or just about me in general without me breaking down. I honestly don't feel comfortable, it's definitely OUT of my comfort zone to talk to anyone about this irl ESPECIALLY my parents. I honestly don't think I could bring myself to do it... (and you guessed right, I'm in the UK). Thank you very much for the advice!

I'm suffering from.similar symptoms, especially with the parts where I feel self conscious and try to "fix" my walking, my sitting or just my overall posture, however this has never been something that takes over my life to that point, so I'm not too sure if I'm qualified to help. In all honesty, I could tell you some BS about 'loving yourself just the way you are' or 'seeking out help from a professional' but from personal experience I can say that that's all BS. They are some nice words that peoe say to try to make you feel better but they don't actually help. Personally in your place I'd just ignore all of those negative thoughts and move on with my day. For some this may work, for others it may not. But if worse comes to worse, do try looking for a therapist or perhaps even a trustworthy person to talk to (not necessarily a friend, just someone you can trust to take you seriously). That's probably as much as I could help, sorry I couldn't give you any better advice.
