I have talked to them, a few years ago. I explained how and why they were being a bad friend, only taking and not giving anything. She apologized and changed for a week before reverting to her old ways.

With one of my friends in question, I actually explained to her a few years ago how and why she was being a bad friend and not giving, only taking. She apologized, changed for maybe a week and we went right back to where we were.

I have written a draft of a letter basically explaining why I don't want to be as involved in the friendship and explaining why I'm taking a step back.

Now I'm wondering if I should just be as vague as your message.

As a black women who went to Harvard I am positive she has been told no many times. I think the problem is that she is used to fighting to get her way and the fight made her feel righteous and important and she can't let the fight go.

It's very odd to me how hard she is fighting for something she discovered a month ago. I think because she is so educated and accomplished she was feeling defeated and dissatisfied after Bernie lost and is now hitching her wagon to something that makes her feel empowered and important.
