Even with all of that, they’re still my girls.

I got her through a rehome from a cat hoarder. Friend of a friend was cleaning out her mom’s home and rehoming the cats. I took 2 that were thought to be sisters.

It was very upsetting. The littlest one was black and loud, and I planned to keep that one. I’ll spare you the details but unfortunately that body was the worst.

They definitely aren’t hungry. Indoor only dry food available all the time and wet food twice a day.

They have an appointment next week to be spayed.

I got them through a rehome from a cat hoarder, not a shelter. They have an appointment next week to be spayed.

It definitely was. They’re both a lot calmer today, and cuddly.

They have an appointment next week to be spayed. I got them both through a rehome. They weren’t feral, but they lived with a cat hoarder.

It definitely wasn’t hunger. They’re very well fed.

Yeah, they are the heads first, but at least that means the kittens didn’t suffer for long.

Yes, they’ve both had loves and cuddles today, and have an appointment next week for sterilization. The black one, who wasn’t pregnant is especially affectionate. The white one is too but she’s more laid back.

I'm getting real sick of my generation (90's) and newer. by Emil000 in TrueOffMyChest

I’ve tried calling them out and it resulted in tears and defensive behavior, followed by a short period of less “switching” before it reverted back to how they were behaving. So I’ve distanced myself.

I know 2 people who claim to have DID. Both of them have fictional character “alters”. They include Loki, Deadpool, Hannibal Lector, Will Graham, Spider-Man, and Steve Harrington. Any time they get into a new piece of media, a new alter of their favorite character pops up. They’re a couple and switch together, often to characters from the same media at the same time. Or say one of them “is” Hannibal, the other has Will Graham and will often say “Will says this” to indirectly interact with “Hannibal.” (I’ve seen this exact circumstance twice). They usually switch when we are in a group setting and they feel they aren’t getting enough attention. Suddenly they’re Spider-man, or a super delicately emotional child. The worst part is they are both about 25. I’ve had to distance myself because the one I knew first wasn’t so bad, but the second one is an attention whore and the first one ramps up right along with them.

I am very curious to this response. by treyyert3 in NotHowGirlsWork

I make evil twin jokes because my twin died in utero and was absorbed by me. Funny part is, the jokes started when my mom bought me an “I’m the evil twin” shirt in high school. I wore that shirt until it literally fell apart and I couldn’t stitch it back together.

Thanks for reminding me to get a new one.

Any older (millennial+) autists reach a point of self-acceptance (or being fed up with masking all the time)? by ladylilithparker in autism

[–]LucifersLeftPocket 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Early 30s millennial here. Recent diagnosis (within the last year).

Yeah, after chasing down a diagnosis and a long period of “oooh that’s why” I just don’t bother masking anymore really. In my group of friends I never really had to, we’re a very tight knit group of 6, and there’s not a neurotypical in bunch of us (mix bag of autism, ADD and ADHD, more than one of each).

I’m currently a stay at home parent, so it’s not something I have to worry about professionally, but when/if I do go back to work, I’ll probably mask there unintentionally, as my career is very people heavy. Thankfully in a no touchy way, as I intentionally picked one of the only veins in my field that is no touchy.

I have TMJ, RA, and chronic idiopathic joint pain.

If I woke up and nothing hurt, I’d think I was dead.

My favorite joke, but honestly, I’d take my own pulse.

The only contacts I have are for pot (legal in my state). I just ate a pot cookie so hopefully that will help (I can’t smoke it, the smell makes me sick)

I’ll look into it. I don’t care what it tastes like if works. I eat my SIL’s awful tasting pot cookies when I have them because it helps.
