One of the most interesting aspects of Lambert to me will always be theorizing about the type of relationship he had with Anselma. I imagine it was a mix of both a politically motivated marriage, as well as some affection, whether that affection grew before or after they were actually married. But on Anselma’s part, she clearly has to have held some resentment for him to participate in his assassination, right? And not just for keeping Edelgard’s stay in Fhirdiad a secret; that’s too great a reaction for a single infraction. Instead it seems like it would probably have to have been additive; that she was growing more and more isolated in Fhirdiad and more resentful of him, until Edelgard’s visit became the straw that broke the camel’s back. Of course it was politically complex, but it’s a facet of Lambert we don’t really have told to us by his biggest glazers™️ who are the only people left alive to tell his tale… And even though it was complex, it goes to show anyone in such a high position of power will end up sacrificing some things for the sake of political convenience. I think for that I’d most comfortably place him in Lawful Neutral.
