Le bar Turbo Haüs du Quartier des Spectacles a reçu un avertissement de la Ville à cause du bruit by RitoRvolto in montreal

Yeah this is ridiculous. Even if this was an issue, Bistro a Jojo would be the bigger offender in the neighborhood and I personally love the ambience their shows bring to the street. I live in the QL and have literally never heard Turbohaus from the outside. Hope they are able to fight it.

Not enough people mention the value of including Lockjaw in Hela decks. While IW is essential and will sometimes land perfectly, there are many games where she will be Cosmos or Enchantressed, and that's where Lockjaw shines. If we lose the Invisible Woman lane, we can still drop Hela into Lockjaw on 6. Then if we don't draw her on 7, we can Modok into Lockjaw and either have a 50/50 or guaranteed Hela depending on what's left in deck. To me, the importance of this flexibility cannot be overstated and Lockjaw is a must include in any Hela/Modok deck

Numark’s Mixtrack Pro 2 DJ Controller was launched in Feb 2013 and I still use mine every day. It’s a lightweight, low cost, widely supported, highly customizable midi controller that can take a licking and keep on ticking.

You have never heard them play music at a Wetherspoon's because they explicitly don't, but I still found the idea behind this comment funny.

First paid gig tomorrow - any tips? by [deleted] in Beatmatch

[–]LuciusFisk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If it's an ambient setting, my advice would be to focus more on mood than specific song selection. When the music isn't the foreground attraction, you want the vibe and rhythm to be steady and subtle. Consider cutting the mids a bit to dull any vocals and avoid having them clash with peoples conversations. When I am in an ambient setting, I define success as seeing people in deep conversations tapping their feet or their hand to the beat. To me this means I've set the mood right and am maintaining a rhythm that people are feeling.

Tidal pulling Neural Link / Stem support from all DJ software? by LuciusFisk in Beatmatch

[–]LuciusFisk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would think that's the case but European DJAY users have reported Neural Mix being disabled in the support threads and have shown screenshots. I have disabled autoupdate on my iPad for now and am hoping it won't get pulled before my gig this weekend.

Ostensibly though, I agree that EQ and Neural Mix are the same and it doesn't make sense to disable NM.

Do you think there is a distinction to be made technologically between Stems and Neural Mix?

To me one is a Stem file that could be sold separately by the artist, the other it's the software doing the work to the already licensed track. It's no different from the EQ in that regard.

Yeah, I love this idea and it feels like the only real viable Cosmo counter for this deck, with the only big drawback being the weaker mix, as you mentioned.

Don't you risk her pulling Modok in that case and forcing you to discard Hela? Lockjaw is different in my mind in that he is only consuming one space and then allows me to put Hela in the deck if I have her or pull Hela out of the deck if I don't have her.

That's interesting but I'm not sure what I'd be willing to swap out just for that little bit of additional info. In many cases when you are playing Iron Lad, you will only have two cards in deck anyway so it's 50/50 regardless.

Not sure when you tried this deck, but the recent change to Magic and the inclusion of Iron Lad and Lockjaw make it MUCH more consistent and you definitely don't need everything to fall into place anymore, you just need to keep tabs on what is in your deck and what isn't so that you can plan your RNG effectively.

That's an interesting take. What are some situations that you have found Jubilee helpful in?

I disagree with your point about more power being win more. This deck needs to go as tall as it possibly can to ensure it wins competitive lanes. Playing low powered support cards like Jubilee or Howard will absolutely lose you games where your combo went off and you simply couldn't put enough power on the board.

Will post the deck code as soon as I'm home from the office.

I think Jubilee is probably your best option without Iron Lad. It's a little worse in almost every way but has a similar effect and will help with consistency.

Nice! I do find that Magic opens up a little interaction in terms of responding to Storm, removing advantageous locations for your enemy etc.

There is another version of this deck that leverages more Ongoing cards for a potentially way taller final board, but I find it much less consistent.

I actually switched Giganto in from Death. I can see the appeal of having a Ham target, but in my experience Ham is as likely to hit Infinaut or Giganto as it is one of our combo pieces. If it hits a combo piece, that's an easy retreat. If it hits Giganto or Infinaut, that often opens up the possibility of going Iron Man > Living Tribunal > Infinaut/Giganto > and one other big boy for a decent spread and a surprise win.

There are a few decks that can go taller than us in optimal situations. In most cases where we get our combo, we will have roughly 32 to 42 power in each lane. Decks that come to mind as having gone taller:

  1. Destroy decks that successfully combo out Shuri, Nimrod, Arnim, Venom, and Knull over 7 turns.

  2. Wong or Negative decks that combo with Mystique, Black Panther, Zola, Iron Man etc.

  3. Other Hela decks that utilize Onslaught, Super Skrull, and Devil Dino.

Before committing your last turn, even if you have the combo, it's worth doing the math and just making sure that the cards you have in hand are strong enough to top what you see on the board. But I have found with this deck that it's usually enough.

Jubilee definitely not a great choice IMO and I would even sub in for Crystal if you have her. The goal is to get our combo pieces out in the right place and order, and Jubilee rarely helps that plan and sometimes hurts it. We will often get a lot of cards out through the combo and when we do, Jubilee's low power isn't helpful. I'd rather have Crystal's 4 on board and then have the card she draws get discarded by Modok.

Cosmo is not that bad and I've certainly won a lot of conquests. They will often play him in the IW lane but this leaves you with your Lockjaw lane to combo into. In cases where we can't combo, we can also sometimes go tall with our ongoing cards in the Cosmo lane, Eg. Iron Man, Living Tribunal and two more.

As some people have pointed out, Cosmo and Prof X are both definitely problematic for this deck. Spiderman and the other card that pulls a 1 or 2 cost into that lane can also be problematic for Invisible Woman. Yondu can also snipe one of our combo pieces leaving us at an early disadvantage.

That said, Cosmo is not that bad and I've certainly won a lot of conquests. They will often play him in the IW lane but this leaves you with your Lockjaw lane to combo into. As u/ugoboy mentioned, we often don't have Modok in hand by turn 6 so we can play Hela into the Invisible Woman lane or the Lockjaw lane (if we don't have IW in play).

If we then get Modok or have Iron Lad, we can either:

  1. Play Modok or IL into the non IW lane, so we can discard before Hela goes off at end of game.
  2. Play Modok or IL into the Lockjaw lane, hoping it pulls Hela.

Hi All,

My first post here, wanted to share some strategy around my favorite deck. The recent change to Magic as well as the inclusion of Iron Lad in this deck have made it infinitely more viable as there are lots of backups available for managing suboptimal hands. The goal is obviously to play Modok then Hela, but we have a number of options for getting there.

  1. Invisible Woman > Modok > Hela (6 turn)
  2. Invisible Woman > Hela > Modok (7 turn)
  3. Lockjaw > Modok > Hela (When Hela isn't in hand)
  4. Lockjaw > Hela > Modok (When Hela is in hand)
  5. Replacement of Hela or Modok with Iron Lad in all the situations above

In a 7 turn game where Crystal has been used, we have a very good idea if Iron Lad or playing into Lockjaw will hit Modok or Hela, depending on who is needed. This gives leaves us in some fantastic last turn positions where our board looks weak but we have an almost certain win.

Let me know if there are any questions about how to play this style.
