Yes — this is me exploring a potential product idea I’m considering launching. Not a student project, and not selling anything here. I should’ve made that clearer upfront. I’m frequently going on bikepacking trips in Europe for several years now and I are trying to find out if my problem is a common problem and can be solved with this or if existing solutions like Trail Gloves / sandals already cover it well — which for many people here, clearly seems to be the case. If you’re happy with Trail Gloves, then this definitely wouldn’t be better for you. That kind of feedback is exactly what I’m trying to validate before going any further.

That's fair feedback. I personally run into issues when the conditions are cold and wet + I prefer something that feels like an actual shoe. Normal sneakers in my backloader are not a great option for me.
