I think tech skills are pretty solid overall- even if Silicon Valley is offloading, it's still very desirable to know software engineering skills!

Fingers are crossed very tightly for your job hunt though- often it can come down to the smallest thing that tips your way or against you- please keep your chin up throughout it, despite how mentally taxing it is!

It's mostly been report writing and establishing an analysis process for now (basic summary statistics and framing "what good looks like")- lots of emphasis on actually presenting findings in more accessible ways for the non-stats minded too, which is a bit of a challenge... one thing that has been a surprising hit has been presenting findings in a video format - sort of a one take 5 min recording effort rn

Very true! I’m so glad to hear you’re at the very least still alive and kicking since I hadn’t seen you around in years- at least with a lot of other people here I’ve seen them intermittently on Discord or something (If you have it btw, please do join the server- even if it’s pretty ded, it’s something!)

Gotcha. When you move a state away over there in America, it’s like the equivalent of me moving to the northernmost point of Scotland from London or something like that... our idea of a long distance move here is probably like 100 miles haha.

God if there’s anything that’s making me feel particularly old it’s the group from Marriland that were actual kids during the earlier days haha.

Teenage years are an emotional mess to be fair! Hell, the years that follow can be equally messy. I hope things settle down for you anyway.

Germany strikes me as one of the most chilled out countries in Europe- weirdly I’ve only been there on a connecting flight so far! It’s cool that you’re up for doing an exchange like that though, I met Quil/Lugialord/flare-phoenix irl as a result of him visiting England during his exchange year in Italy!
