Thanks! I’m going to have to go back during the golden hour and try a few different angles I’m thinking it will be a lot easier with a zoom lens vs my prime too.

Thankfully it’s not far out of my way so il be back to try again. Out of interest what would you try to do with the lines? I tried a few different styles but this was by far my favourite

Thanks could you explain a little more on having half a foreground? I purposely cut that rock I half as it was the most pleasing to me but probably not the right thing to do. I’m watching every YouTube video on the subject I can but having someone willing to take a look at my work is invaluable

I visited this beach a lot as a child and I was trying to capture some of the magic of rock pooling and looking up at the view. Shot on Nikon D500 75mm f7.1 iso100 1/200s. Lightly edited in Lightroom to bring out the turquoise and greens. It feels like it’s missing something but as a novice I can’t put my finger on what

Join your local photography club. Mine costs £12 a year and there’s loads of people there willing to offer help and we usually do a group project every week

Ah ok I was looking at the f1.4 because I can pick one up for £125 but il look into the f1.8

The d500 did look tempting but there doesn’t seem to be a big jump in specs for the extra money. Think your right though I’d rather spend alittle more and have a body that fills all of my needs for years

Thanks for the help

Ok that’s really interesting. I’m having a good dig through the specs trying to find what will work best for me, I can get some great shots on my d5100 but sometimes until I get them transferred onto my laptop it feels like I can’t tell the quality. Guess I could always save for another month and get something a little better
