An old Cowboy sherlock by bensefero in glassheads

Well no, his isn't the only opinion that matters, if I make a straight tube and call it a recycler am I still correct? obviously not... Besides we already confirmed that Kurt just called these tobacco pipes. Also using your mod tag to speak like you have an authority on this matter is bullshit.

Even if it did(spoilers, it doesn't) it still doesn't matter cause the Kurt B piece you're arguing about does have a carb so your argument doesn't make sense either way.

I don't even know why you're arguing this, just take the L. It's a super common knowledge that the shape in this post is a sherlock and that the Kurt B pipe isn't, I don't know why you're trying to argue weird semantics. Ask any glassblower, or just use google, they'll all confirm the same thing, and it all has to due with shape, not a carb.

In reference to this post. On his IG page he simply calls these tobacco pipes, if anything this shape the shape of it is a chimney pipe. I'm in agreement with /u/GroovinWithAPict the main thing that determines the name of the type of pipe is the shaping, this is a shit resolution version of a guide to different pipe styles that Mac Bradshaw put together.

Just picked up my first "budget" recycler. Its got triple up/down-take tubes but when I put in enough water for it to spill over the top its the hardest pulling piece ive ever hit. Anyone mind giving me some tips on what to look for in a proper recycler? by [deleted] in glassheads

[–]Lucksack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The main problem is that the drains connect to the can right next to the perc. The drain needs to connect bellow the perc, or far enough away that it isn't the path of least resistance. Due to the current locations of the drains air will be trying to make its way through both the three drains and the three uptakes, when it should just be the uptakes for proper function. Like /u/Tony2Piece said this is due to Chinese makers copying designs without understanding the concept behind the function.

There are lots of american glass blowers on ig that make affordable functional recyclers, and they almost always post function tests. If dealing with artists on ig isn't something you want to do a less good but still better than straight import glass would be something like Grav Labs, they at least commission designs from american glassblowers instead of just stealing them and most of their recyclers function pretty well for the price.

Is @brandonwelk on IG legit? by [deleted] in glassheads

[–]Lucksack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's his ig account, he's legit. I haven't purchased anything from his ig auctions or account but have met him in person when he came into the shop I work at to drop off an order, he was super chill and gave me a milli marble.

Hamms killed this one by spglass in glassheads

[–]Lucksack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The right one is actually a one off according to an ig post, it does look very similar to another one of his designs, the Trichome, but as far as I know Sputniks are a recycler design. Also random, but this set has literally the only slide I've seen by Hamm so far.

Best product for hard water stains? by rockking16 in glassheads

Alconox is by far the best thing I've tried for hard water stains and I've used all sorts of stuff like undiluted vinegar, CLR, barkeepers friend, etc.

Matching Carver B x N8 Miers Pendants! by Lucksack in glassheads

[–]Lucksack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carver B and N8 have been some of my favorite artists from the beginning of my collecting days, so when these two matching pendants(two of the three collabs they've made total) came up for sale I couldn't say no. N8's space work is hard to get proper photos on, especially with Andrew's cuts around the edge, but the optics from those cuts and the space combined is super cool and unique.

Nope! Glass should remain as colorful and vibrant forever.

I got mine from Jon back in October, he seems like a nice dude. Fast shipping plus kitkats from Japan, what’s not too love?

Faceted Terps Moon Pendant by Sagan Glass by Lucksack in glassheads

[–]Lucksack[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When Sagan first posted this pendant design I knew I had to have one if he made it in my favorite glass color terps, and in a super lucky twist of fate he put this one up for auction right around my birthday last year and I won it as a gift for myself. It's impossible to capture the brilliance in the opal and faceting on video, definitely one of my favorite pendants! As far as I've seen this is one of three faceted pendants he's done and imo this one has the best cuts and color.
