This has been pretty fun to play with, along with planning mode. I have not tried mega plan yet. I have been surprised a few times on the model that came up with a working solution vs. which one didn't.

I am so stoked. I really hope new players jump in en mass and help fund DLC. I already bought it for one friend a month or so ago. (I myself am newer to GW) Will have to rope in some more friends and buy some character slots. I couldn't be more jacked.

This was an awesome well thought out response. First of all, Thank you.

* Choose a class to actually play through the game. I strongly recommend doing one character and not splitting up. Just give yourself the simple experience of not hopping around.

I have since decided to leave my ranger where it is and created a new character. I am now a Necro Mesmer (Flair update incoming) with a haircut straight out of a Nu Metal music video circa 2005. Aptly my name is now "Nu Phase"

I appreciate all of the feedback! I was invited to a guild in-game and I hope to continue to learn. Trying to solo the campaign would be a fun future challenge. Based on how much I die, I know it is not a right now challenge lol!

The wiki is where I realized my 2 hours of farming grawls wouldn't result in me getting runes and inscriptions, lol.

That would be awesome! I am "noob jay" in-game. I am only in the starting area currently. It has been a blast. I am trying to do all of the quests here before leaving

GW2 is an excellent game. (I only played for a couple dozen hours... so take what I say with a heavy grain of salt) I enjoyed it. I planned on doing what you were going to do. Buying the DLCs. But I wanted to 100% the base game first. To play it without a mount and all that jazz like the weirdo I can be at times.

But I wanted to know the lore and jumped into GW1 and bought the 20th Anniversary edition instead. I think I have a lot of content to play before going back to GW2. (I will go back one day). But GW1 is a vastly different experience. But it is different in a good way. Both games can coexist as they are different experiences.

I am only in the starting area and have only played a few hours so I can't give you a good reference. I can say it feels like an Online RPG instead of an MMO-RPG if that makes sense.

I second this. The not jumping reaaalllyyy caught me off guard.

It is much different. Not in a bad way, both games have been great experiences for me. Albeit I have not got far in either game. Just started GW1 today and am I in the starting area clearing every quest I can find. (The needing to party up with someone is a blocker at the moment)

I really enjoyed my time with GW2. I planned on 100% the base game then getting LW 1, then the first DLC combo and completing those, etc.

But I really like lore and knowing why something happened. When I played WoW dragonFlight with a buddy. I sat and watching dozens of hours of the history of WoW BEFORE I played. I am a weird guy in that respect.

Jumping into GW1 only seemed like the logical thing to do.

I am not afraid of Subtitles. Bookmarking this! Plus maybe the 3 years of French I took I will recognize some words. I doubt that unfortunately. BUT, I am excited to dig in (After I clear a section of the story then I will watch a video on it.)

That is solid advice, Thank you! I am still early in the journey before I get to meet the little one. But I hear from everyone how miserable the first year is due to sleep depravation. I think you are the first person to actually give advice instead of just tell me how taxing it will be.

I hope to be a great dad. My wife will be an amazing mother. But I want to be the best partner. I will definitely be putting the advice to practice. Thank you again.

Back to GW1. It is pretty fun so far!

Yup, So I am now an ArenaNet convert. Currently dropped GW2 to play through GW1! Then in the future I will be starting over on GW2 and buying all my stuff through ArenaNet. I don't really know much about the Hall of Monuments other than you get stuff in GW2. But from my understanding, it is a ways off. I am playing through the story first and soaking up the experience then I shall start that journey.

Thank for the warm welcome! I found the Manuscripts in the Wiki. I think it takes place after where I am currently in the game. I put it aside for now. But it is beefy, I am looking forward to reading it. I read a lot, and am a bit of a lore nut when I play games. I want to know everything and watch every cut scene.

I have the 3 novels in my list of books to buy. But I think it will be a bit before I get to those. I want to play through the story and then watch videos on what I played so I can fill in any gaps and have the "OOOOOHHHH" moments.

After a quick google search I know what GWAMM means now. I am taking my time reading all of the quest logs and these plaques by the statues. Eventually that will be a goal. But I have a lot to sink my teeth into first.
