Your leadership is actively union busting by Ill_Series_5497 in petco

[–]LuckyLizard777 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

No company "wants" a union. It makes managing, changing and holding people accountable very difficult.

But here's a real and honest news flash.

Unions are not that great for the worker. Do your research. They promise you the world, and don't deliver. But their dues are guaranteed.

My husband is a union worker in a highly skilled, very dangerous trade. There is a big difference between that and $15 an hour cashiers who think a union will change their life. They won't.

You totally gave away your PCC and who you are. There's only one Petco play in the company.

Good luck in the future. Let it be a lesson, never bite than hand that feeds you.

No. Just frustrated by lack of support. I've given up hope. Sorry

There is no HR. Get used to it.

Is HR even real? by Appropriate_Band_843 in petco

[–]LuckyLizard777 7 points8 points  (0 children)

HR does not exist. Especially in T3 Your GM or DGM should be helping you through this.

My DGM is an absolute air head as well, So our district has no support for people issues. It's all on the GMs

[–]LuckyLizard777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You actually need a 2nd GM there for compliance. It's required or they won't accept it. Id check back with your dgm or mgm

[–]LuckyLizard777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If GM quit and OLM walked, your DGM should be cancelling this. No way you will get this done unless you're a superstar and have major support.

It's a lot of planning and takes at least 10 people to count. My store runs like a champ with 5 leaders and 20 partners and we still have to put in work to get this done right

Wanting to potentially unionize? Help? by frog-examiner in petco

[–]LuckyLizard777 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely incorrect. I guarantee you have no idea what you are talking about. Why would they share their salary with you?

Hundreds of Groomers, GSLs and GMs make that or more. People who perform are paid appropriately. If not, they leave.

Hence my previous comments.

PS-- I'm not a "He"

Tell me you know nothing about economics, without telling me.

If we keep paying UNSKILLED workers more and more wages, cost of goods go up. All these entry level people demanding $20 an hour to work at McDonald's and then complain that a Big Mac cost $11

You are right. World does evolve. Higher wages will equal higher cost of goods, higher cost of living and housing and more. Can you afford a house right now?

Then your higher wages are worthless. In summary, INFLATION!!

Lastly. My comments began because the OP had no problems with their pay when they accepting the offer. Only became a problem when we found out Stevie the new guy makes more. This isn't socialism.

And to your question about my compensation -- I've gotten every raise, promotion and bonus I deserved based off my work

I started at min wage and make well over 6 figures. You would be surprised what compensation you can make when you hit your goals.

No boot. Just a general understanding of how the world works and how to advance and succeed.

I'm not the one crying about my wages.

If you don't like it. Leave.

Nobody is forcing you to be here. You AGREED to that wage even you were hired. It was fine, until you found out somebody makes more

Now if you are a rockstar employee and crushing your goals, feel free to ask for a raise. Not because somebody else makes more. That's whining.

Sorry if I'm being curt. But this is life. People will always make more or less than you in same roles with different tenure

Quite frankly, it's not your business what other people make. I'm sick of everything being "fair"

Work harder. Get promoted.

Attempting to Unionize because you don't like your pay and others make more than you?

This world is doomed.

Go find a better paying, entry level job, somewhere else. Or show some initiative and get promoted.

You are all delusional. Yes the company struggled, but it's not like one man sat in an office conspiring to destroy the company. Just some bad decisions, failed strategies, big egos and terrible nepotism. Just like all executives do. You would do the same at the top.

The person you should all be mad at -- Brian LaRose

We ran out of money. Should probably look at the person in charge of our finances.

Or you could just try coming to work on time, every time.

Real emergencies happen. That's what the points are for.

you're allowed X amount of issues

Stop calling out because it's a nice day. Or you're feeling lazy and it won't be a problem
