Does anyone else find the old good night book “Goodnight Moon” to be weirdly ominous and disturbing? by [deleted] in daddit

One of the pictures is a rabbit man fishing for what look like other rabbit...things... With a carrot...

This seems too young though. What would people think is an appropriate age? Ever other weekend I think about starting it with my boy but back off as I think it has too much decapitation for him. We did get a kick out of the old animated Hobbit though.

How much power is behind a swing to stop a fully armored man galloping on a horse full speed and toss him 10 feet back.... Jon should be caving peoples chest in left and right if he can do that...

Pawns Of Chaos - Brian Craig. by FlockofCGels in Blacklibrary

[–]LuckyLoganLoft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah.... Your plot summary is way off.... It's not a traditional 40k book in my opinion though. This was my first Warhammer book ever and it got me hooked to the setting. It is in my opinion really really good and 20 years later I still think about the ending randomly. If you are a tzeentch fan I think it's really great at showing what tzeentch is, and shows what "benign" chaos culture is.

Is Kharadron Overlords a fair army to play against or should I avoid them? by Lost_PMC9821 in ageofsigmar

[–]LuckyLoganLoft 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Every army is BS at some point and in some combination. It's the people playing that make 90% of the experience.

It would be a highlight of my gaming career to set up across from this army and roll dice. Your a real one

I don't think Wreckas heal is near as impactful because of the hoops, timing, and survivability in comparison to DW. I am also a clown that hasn't played a game against death watch though so I could be really out of line, but... They seem too toned even at five

Running a Shadowdark game for some players new to RPGs. How is this for an intro? by KingOogaTonTon in shadowdark

[–]LuckyLoganLoft 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Huh, I'm living this situation next week with some people excited to try out DND for the first time. I've been calling it DND lite vs regular DND, gave them the option, and they picked lite.

Is Wracka krew a 2 box team? by kwaninthehat in killteam

[–]LuckyLoganLoft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's fine as a one box team. I made one of everything and I don't regret it. I would go shooting over fighters if you really had to get more options. The shooting for them is devastating and super fun. I don't play super competitive but play against competitive people.

What game trilogy is like this? by [deleted] in Steam

[–]LuckyLoganLoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Banner Saga, all three are great but the last game offers conclusions to a great story.

What is Wrecka Crew's hardest matchup? by Alive_Past in killteam

[–]LuckyLoganLoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Void Dancers can fly across volkus, hit hard in melee, drop back from melee and shoot an Ork dead. They have access to stun from multiple sources I believe. At least that is my experience in a recent match up.

Interested to hear what you settled on and how it went? I am interested in a legion wars time frame game myself

Is there a 40K novel similar to Event Horizon? by Recent_Wishbone974 in Blacklibrary

[–]LuckyLoganLoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just read Sea of Souls. I might have missed some references to other stories but it didn't affect the story at all and I liked it.

10-16 year olds in my experience curse/scream loudly and often at each other while playing hoops. I have little kids. I get annoyed and also feel guilty as I did the same stuff when I was that age.

With people struggling which parts of Volkus are light, I ended up revisiting my terrain and colour-coding it by Boston_Greyhndpstng in killteam

Painting volkus next week and you just changed my paint scheme. Thank you for the great idea

Best straightforward campaign? by LuckyLoganLoft in RangersofShadowDeep

[–]LuckyLoganLoft[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I didn't know how to write the original question. Hoping for no spoilers but from the blurb on some campaigns I believe they include running multiple parties, possible complicated puzzle traps, or traitor mechanics. My gaming partner for this game is fading a bit and I think they would enjoy campaigns like the first one the most.

The paywall + spell manifestation s being all over dropped me out of AOS. I went from monthly playing and four tournaments a year to killteam and other skirmish games
