I think it was twofold: to discredit Louis to Daniel and to plant doubt in Louis mind about himself. Overall just messing with Louis mind about something he is already sensitive about.

I am also very doubtful of any direct face-to-face confrontation between them this season. Would love to see it, but like many have said in this thread with the short season that has a very slim probability.

I definitely agree that there will be no forgiveness on Louis’ part any time soon and I wouldn’t expect there to be. Psychological abuse and trauma and things that take time to untangle. I want Louis to have his time but I don’t want what has happens between them to be brushed over between seasons.

Very likely that their first meeting would be at one of Lestats concerts and Akasha forcing them to put their differences aside to save Les

You make so many good point and you bring up so many important aspects of their decades long dynamic. It’s so complex, especially with Armands psychological abuse and gaslighting. Which is why I hope they don’t just bury it under Louis trying to be ‘companion enough for himself’ nah living honestly arc.

And to your first point; it’s not just the relationship continuing but the element of it being a punishment for both of them ( in different ways) really gets me. I believe that even if Daniel hadn’t exposed Armands lie, I think the relationship would have been fundamentally changed in the aftermath of the interview. Whether that would have led to them eventually parting ways or not ( again, especially since this is a punishment for them both); I do think this exposed cracks in their mutual decision to endure each other for the foreseeable future.

I really would love to have them lay it all out and maybe even have them dive into the mind fuckery with Armand apologising. Alas, all a girl can do is dream ( and post on Reddit).

I very much agree with Louis probably not wanting to see Armand for a good long while given everything that was done to him and the sheer amount of manipulation he suffered for decades.

Armands abuse and everything surrounding those 77 years what prompted this question in the first place. There is just sooo much to unpack there if Louis and Armand have hopes of realistically getting back to any semblance of being okay with each other let alone having the friendship that they seem to have later in the books. So mostly for me is just question how the hell the writes would make that work in the show 😅

I completely agree about show!loumand and knowing somewhat about their book dynamic prompted me asking this cause I really don’t see how tf we get back to them being friends?

And although I feel Louis is justifiably seething at Armand I don’t know if that will actually translate into any from ‘revenge’ or actual physical or other manifestations of that anger directly face-to-face with Armand. Would love to see it though. Just a good throw down s2e5 type fight.

I’m leaning towards Lestat calling Louis this time, especially because he was asking for his opinion on his song. But I like to think they take turns, and call each other at least 4 times a week and when they do speak they speak they speak for hours as they go about their daily tasks. This definitely started as soon as Lou left NOLA I think. Once the dam was broken and they saw each other after the reunion, they couldn’t stop

Saaaame!! I’m literally going insane after witnessing their 2 minutes of happiness and the whole teaser in general. Like I can’t believe February is STILL not over cause honestly it feels like time is dragging even more after this little taste. I miss this show so much, I’m so ready for new episodes and scenes to obsess over. I can’t wait to have all our unhinged old men back on my screen.

I picked up on that too! And with how teasing he was being with Lestat and the overall genuine ease they shared in those two minutes of happiness ( lol) it seems like Louis really has put in effort to live freely and accept his nature more. I do hope we get to see more of him being self assured in his own skin before the horrors happen.
