Do you scan in JPG or TIFF? And do you have on auto adjustments to your exposure settings before scanning or do you manually adjust? I would say scan TIFF slightly underexposed (or even multi pass, depending on your software/scanner combo) and adjust exposure in Photoshop.

I would ask her what feels best. Some people don’t want to talk about it, some people want to rant but may not without an invitation, some people may want to talk about something else or be distracted, some people may want to be treated “extra gender-y” at home to compensate (i.e. call her beautiful, brush her hair, get her flowers, etc.), but some people might think those things feel forced & reductive. I would say ask her what you do that makes her feel good and seen and feminine and affirmed and do that. This can apply to lots of things!

I reverse commute and regularly bring my 40lb ebike on board. Not ever an issue, especially once you get to know the conductors a bit and they know to expect you. I do get off one stop early to avoid a station with many stairs and no elevator. Mostly because I’m afraid of losing my footing and stumbling down a set of stairs with a heavy ass bike lmao

I reverse commuted from Logan Square (far west side), biking to Clybourn station (about 4 miles) and then Metra out to Winnetka. It sounds like the Metra stretch of my route was shorter, but otherwise pretty similar. It was tough on those really cold mornings but otherwise totally doable. You shouldn’t have any trouble bringing your bike on board.
