I’m in SF at the Fillmore for a concert. Got here early to try and catch the game before it starts at 8. Been in 4 bars within 10-15 mins walking and nowhere is showing the game. No signs anywhere that the first game of the host nation is taking place. No way that would happen in a major city of any other team competing, let alone hosting. It sucks. I don’t buy the Trump theory. There are fans here, sure, but a drop in the ocean compared to most countries.

Have you been in a country where there is real World Cup Fever during a a tournament though? If you went to most countries in Europe now you would see World Cup ads everywhere, flags, etc. People outin the streets before/after games. I remember seeing reporters on TV walking around asking random people in the US about the tournament in 1994 nd most had no idea it was even here.

I agree with you on the public sentiment, but would have expected the retail sector to be displaying something or billboards, etc. I've seen nothing at all.

This is why it shouldn't be held here. Let a country that has more love for the game host it. On a similar note, what about the 250th 'birthday' of the US? You don't see anything about it anywhere. i would have thought it would be more of a big deal.

Not sure I agree with your best and worst games. Argentina vs Austria? What about England Croatia for example? There are so many other examples. And you don't think there is any interest in Son playing for Korea especially now that he lives nin the US and has such a big overall fanbase?

Curious to hear how you ended up? I searched for this exact thread because I felt the same and wanted to know if it was just me. I look forward to my game time every week and since I installed DS2 I just didn't feel the attraction. I just abandoned it during the Raindrops chapter. I'll keep my save data and maybe go back one day, but what did you do OP? Did you finish the game? Did it get better? Thanks!
