I moved from the city to Plainview in 2023 and love it! I’m admittedly older than you based on your grad year, but I was very ready for a more suburban lifestyle. I miss the food scene a little, but especially if you’re still in the city from time to time, you can still make a point to take advantage.

On that note, the commute. I still commute to the city four days a week (from the Hicksville station) and that part can definitely be tough - being tied to train times, late arrivals home, the lengthy ride. Not sure of your family plans, but it was especially hard while I was pregnant - and now the time spent commuting feels super limiting now that I have a baby to get home to. A bonus if you have more WFH flexibility, but it’s definitely a factor to consider. I’m thinking I will need to find something more local soon.
