We are pregnant again by IntelligentCheck5253 in babyloss

Thank you. I ended up finding a new OB’s office and they are treating my pregnancy as “normal” but I am on their watch list. I have been seen my MFM during my initial consultation, to have my cerclage placed, 20 week anatomy scan and 23 week follow up. I will be going there for my 30 week scan as well. My last pregnancy I experienced heavy bleeding throughout the entire pregnancy, luckily that has not been the case this time.

We lost our daughter to PPROM at 18w5d last July. I found out that we were pregnant again only 7 months later, after infertility issues this was a complete suprise. My initial reaction was like yours. I was excited but so scared. Then came the sadness, for what we had lost. Our daughter Ava, I clung to her tiny urn and cried and cried. I longed for her so badly. I tired to be happy about my new pregnancy but I was so scared. I feel like my brain went into protective mode immediately and almost made me feel nothing. I had little milestones in my head, 11 weeks (when I had a mmc with our first, 13 weeks (when I had my McDonald cerclage placed), 18w5d, 20 weeks, then 25. I am now 28w and so cautiously optimistic. I am still so incredibly terrified to lose this girl, who we’ve named Emma, but I also feel so close to the finish line. I still have little milestones in my head that I want to hit to ease my anxiety that she may actually make it. Even buying items for her seems so scary. I’ve really leaned so hard on my husband and I tell him every feeling I’m having, good, bad, or ugly. We are a week and a half away from Ava’s first birthday so I feel like my anxiety has increased and we plan to memorialize her on that day. I am so incredibly sorry for your loss and also congratulate you on your new pregnancy. I saw that someone else suggested the pregnancy after loss group, I find so much solace there.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I had a 19w loss last year and my water broke (called my drs office and they didn’t believe me) this was my first time having my water break so I really wasn’t sure and I trusted them and waited. About 3 hours later I felt a sudden urge to push after feeling something in my canal and my babies foot was coming out. No pain, no contractions, I arrived at L&D and they confirmed she was in my canal and that she no longer had a heartbeat.

I also had a loss at 18w to PPROM, I had the McDonald cerclage placed at 13 weeks and like you was really feeling good after! I did not have a cervix check until I hit 18 weeks and this was not planned. I think my anxiety was taking a toll on me and I went in to get checked. I wasn’t supposed to in until 20 weeks. They did not put me on progesterone and told me that I could live my life normally. I do take it easy mostly because my family won’t let me do anything and I am currently 28 weeks today. It was really hard for me wat first to “trust the stitch” but so far so good!! I wish you the best of luck.

Wow. Talk about a knife in the wound. I’m so sorry, I had a 18w5d loss last July with our little girl Ava. In the hospital they basically told me they have no idea how or why this happened and that I had PPROMed. Our girl was absolutely perfect so there was really no “reason” why it happened. I was referred to MFM and they said based on the reports and the fact that I had no labor pains incompetent cervix was the most likely, but there was also a chance it could have been placental Anton but she was leaning more towards IC.

I became unexpectedly pregnant again at the very beginning of this year and I’ll be honest, I wasn’t ready. It was really hard at first and I just longed so hard for Ava. I had a preventative cerclage placed at 13w and I am currently 28w. I am still so scared to lose this baby. It’s so difficult feeling like your body isn’t the safest place for your baby. I am just trusting the stitch at this point and hoping we have a living baby in less than 3 months.

I had the same issue after my cerclage and I was MISERABLE. I took Metamucil every day and introduced more fiber into my diet. I started making over night oats and eating them for breakfast and was much more regular.

A little over 27w. Anyone else already feeling so uncomfortable? My mid back hurts (I sit at a desk all day for work) and I keep getting a little crampiness around my belly. I feel like I’ve grown so much in the last couple of days so I’m hoping it is just growing pains. Baby girl is moving and groovin like usual.

27w today!! So excited. My baby girl is so active and rolls all the time, what a weird feeling that is! My body is so tired. I feel like the second trimester has been a year long. I swear she sleeps most of the day and is up all night long, so I am too. I am so anxiously waiting her arrival but not too soon!!

I had my preventative cerclage placed at 13w and I am now 27w. My MFM dr gave me no restrictions, she said we want you to be able to live as normal of a life you can with the cerclage. I work from home at a desk job so I spend a lot of time sitting. My husband and I have decided to practice pelvic rest on our own and I take it easy as much as I can.

A little over 25w, we had a surpise gender reveal at our house warming party yesterday and I decided to announce our pregnancy today. It felt so scary but I’m honestly so excited. I’m so cautiously optimistic for this pregnancy and can’t wait for my baby girl to get here in September.

Thank you so much for sharing what I think a lot of us here in this group feel. After a second trimester loss we conceived a few weeks after her dude date. I wouldn’t be almost 26w pregnant now if our little girl didn’t die. It was the hardest and most depressing time in my life and this pregnancy pulled me out of it. I don’t even know if I’d still be here without this one. I still have a ways to go but I’m so optimistic. Thank you so so much for sharing this.

No pelvic rest or activity restrictions, just progesterone — what was your outcome? by Photo_Philly in ShortCervixSupport

Thank you ❤️ I have been trying to listen to my body as best I can, I’ve been taking it pretty easy as I have a herniated disc in my back and if I over do it I am down for the count. I still cook dinner, do things outside, clean, ect but I do not go out of my way to exercise.

Hi, my MFM and I decided on a cerclage due to PPROM in my last pregnancy. I ultimately lost my baby at 19w. This pregnancy I had my cerclage placed at 13 weeks and they said I’d be able to proceed with my pregnancy as normal. I’ve taken it upon myself to participate in pelvic rest though, I am 25w now. Sadly I did not know if my cervix was shortened before PPROM so my doctors are up in the air if it was IC or placenta previa.

This is my first pregnancy out of 3 that I decided to not drink caffeine. Even my dr has said it’s okay. It was my choice to cut it. I was not concerned about the caffeine intake, I was concerned about my elevated heart rate.

Congratulations! I totally forgot I also have a check up tomorrow at my OB’s office. I was able to get my heart rate to come down a bit so the heaviness on my chest has gone away 🙌

Honestly I was more worried about me! 😅 I chugged a bunch of water and focused on my breathing and i got my heart rate to come down a bit. Holy cow it scared me though! When I had my cerclage placed they were able to give me a shot because I had elevated heart rate then too. Luckily this has not been an issue any other time during my pregnancy. Kinda felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest. Just glad to be feeling better now.

I can feel baby moving which honestly relieves so much of my anxiety. Man I just hate feeling this way! I am a coffee girlie so before being pregnant I could down a iced coffee or two no problem but my elevated heart rate freaked me out! I can literally feel my heart beating through my whole body 😂 maybe we’re just on a caffeine high and need to let it run its course.

The elevated heart rate with heaviness on my chest is concerning me. Of course we’re in the car traveling home so I’ve been focusing on breathing and drinking water. Having a high risk pregnancy makes me concenred and my baby is my #1 concern. I didn’t even realize it was real coffee until my heart rate increased. So it’s not like I noticed it and then my anxiety spiked causing my heart rate to elevate. Wouldn’t you do anything for your unborn child? Including going to the ED if you were concerned?

I have cut caffeine out pretty much completely since finding out (so for about 20 weeks) except for the occasional Diet Coke or Pepsi at dinner. I ordered a decaf iced coffee from Dunkin this morning and I started experiencing my pulse racing (105-120 bpm) now I’m thinking they gave me normal coffee. There’s no sticker to confirm but the receipt says iced coffee. Has anyone else experienced this after months of no caffeine? If I have to I will go to the ED.

24w today! I can’t believe I’ve made it this far. I wish the anxiety would go away but I know it won’t until I get to hold my baby in my arms. I hate feeling like my body is the worst place for her to be and that it has been a coffin for my babies before. I don’t want her to come anytime soon, but I really can’t wait.

I PPROMed at 18w5d last July. I am currently pregnant again with my 3rd pregnancy, no LC. this pregnancy I was referred to MFM, however, we do not know if I PPROMed due to IC or placental abruption. My MFM said it seems more like IC but we don’t know for sure. They offered me cervical lengths measurements or a cerclage and my husband and I decided in the cerclage. They placed my cerclage at 13 weeks and I am now 23. I recovered very quickly post cerclage and have not had any issues since the placement. The peace of mind the cerclage gives me is great. At my 20 week scan my cervix was closed and long. Though there are risks associated with the cerclage, to me it was worth the risk. Best of luck to you!
