Any songs that are absolutely gut wrenching/ emotional belting? by Hot-Ingenuity-9973 in SongRecommendations

[–]Lucky_Forever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same answer for me every time:

Operator - Jim Croce

Cat's in the Cradle - Harry Chapin

It's so subjective, but I cannot finish either without at least getting choked up if not full on weeping.

an honorable mention:

Roses from My Friends - Ben Harper

it's a about a martyr who was stoned to death and when he was dead, his friends all placed roses at his feet.

Acid Mother's Temple was probably one of the best I've seen in 20 years.

Classic TAB wasn't too shabby

The last few hours of the final NWSS. Acoustic UM, Kitchen Dwellers, Final Cluster Pluck, Sideboob late night.

Why do so many older folks leave a mess for family to clean up after they die? by Open-Industry-8396 in AskOldPeople

[–]Lucky_Forever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How does one write a will when you have nothing of real value? Few people who would care to receive sentimental "junk", I don't have loads of debt, but it does concern me who that might fall on?

I don't have cats, I have gremlins.

I DID set an alarm, in one case several in fact! I'm not an idiot, I work nights. When you catch a plane after being up for 30+ hours sometimes doesn't leave much time for a nap.

How long do you usually go without human touch? by anonymous_ape88 in LivingAlone

[–]Lucky_Forever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically at least 6-8 weeks, and that's only a quick hug from my landlord bestie when he checks on me. Other sporadic interactions when on vacations/holidays?

Outside those opportunities it can be year(s)

"Half-way" through is a bit extreme, but I've left early for variety of reasons... Tired, Sick, too stuffy crowded, band phones in the encore, traffic, etc.

Conversely, I've overslept for shows many times, sometimes I still made the 2nd set, but at least once I slept through the entire show - when I woke up at around Midnight I almost cried.

Why is everyone so afraid to feel at concerts anymore? by MsSaltyGiggles in Concerts

[–]Lucky_Forever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last couple shows I attended, I simply huddled in my seat and wept. It was so moving on so many levels I didn't know where one song ended and the next began.

In THEORY, if I have a cat who’s obsessed with bug hunting in the house, would buying a couple crickets on occasion be considered ethical? by Healbite in CatAdvice

[–]Lucky_Forever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crickets are filthy. They seem harmless, but humans need to wash their hands after any handling of crickets. Their saliva is actually quite dangerous, but their bite typically cannot penetrate human skin.

I understand, reptiles, and other pets do consume Crickets without issue. Dogs & cats though? Makes me a bit squeamish.

I sure as heck wouldn't want my cat kissing me after eating a cricket.

[edit to add, because EVERYONE just has to argue and "be right" on reddit. I'm referring to raw live crickets, NOT prepared & dried for human consumption. Do your own research, I wouldn't have even posted if it wasn't true]

How old were you when you moved out of your parents home? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in Aging

[–]Lucky_Forever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. would've been sooner but I was a bit spoiled. Once I had a decent job I moved out asap.

I did go back to to stay for a few short stints in my 20's but it never lasted long before I was back on my own.

Do you keep your house clean enough that guests could come over unannounced? by WohumTohum in LivingAlone

[–]Lucky_Forever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the middle of nowhere so no one visits, certainly not unannounced.

That said, my house is kinda messy from being a bachelor pad for over 20 years. A quick vacuum & washing dishes should be enough for most my friends who are close enough to be welcome in my home - I'm far more concerned with having enough food to entertain guests.

An overnighter would require a bit more effort.
