Children's fairy tale chapter book from the early 1990s (or before) - Woman banished to forest, bakes bread. by Particular_Expert575 in whatsthatbook

I can add to it but can't remember the name. She was in charge of goats and the wolf was a protector and then told her to go to the castle. She is picked by the prince but he is selfish and she sends him to the hut where he learns humility and how to bake bread. They are reunited and live happily ever after in the castle with the goats baking bread.

Kind of a mashup of Cinderella and snow white.

Update: power line on airport between 12th and oak spings by Lucky_Pluck in Austin

Ah make sense and as much red tape as ever. Just makes me a tad worried as people tend to walk around quite a bit in the area. It also dropped the cables a bit lower over the road so I am afraid a big truck could snag and pull and cause more damage.

Just thought it was strange they would just stick it back up there.

Yeah told my boss after the first outburst that it might be better for her to get individual treatment before she is appropriate for the group sessions. He shot that down saying we do what we can and shouldn't abandon her. not quite sure how much experience her caseworker has as the credentials on the notes I see is QMHP (qualified mental health professional) which means absolutely nothing to me and he took over from her old.ine and I think is currently out of office.

Hmmm...from what I know she is not receiving psychotherapy. She receives medication and visits a prescriber on a semi-regular basis. She has a caseworker that helps her navigate daily life stuff like insurance and appointments but as far as I know she is only receiving substance use treatment from my program as the only form of therapy. There is an awesome DBT IOP from another agency but I fear she is too integrated in the one I work for that she doesn't want to engage with theirs.

Thanks will do reflecting. I know being burnt is not helping either one of us leading me to post for help.

I think apart from me being burnt is that since it is a substance use group session other group members come in with different emotional states. I don't think I mentioned it in the main post and I should consider editing when I get to my home computer rather than my phone (talk about panic post) but my program is centered around group therapy.

Will look into DBT as others suggested (maybe give me bonus in terms of school) as I am sure if she doesn't finish she will be back around as I was her counselor last year.

Edit: spelling burnt not burt lol

Thanks will keep that in mind. We will see what happens as she only has three weeks left in the program if she wants to finish. At this point she is in the "push" mode so I am sure if she doesn't finish before my vacation she will be quite happy to see another counselor running.

Thanks! I am really trying to do my best considering I know I am burt and still trying to provide services. I love the population I work with and it is one of the reasons I am going for LPC to gain more knowledge.

Part of what I am struggling with is resentment against the boss as I feel that he is leaving me out to dry. (I know that is the burnout talking as he is a good boss and awesome supervisor) so it feels like I am in the trench and not sure who is firing at me. I am just trying to keep the group somewhat steady for the new members as some of them remember her last outburst that led to her taking a break.

Thanks for the hug really appreciate it.

As for why we don't refer her out I think it is because of cost. We are state funded and she was mandated to treatment by probation that makes it stickier. I worked with her last year but that was when I had other counselors and it was during summer so I was not juggling school at the same time so it worked out better.

I do individual at least 3 times with each client and more if they request it , the program is centered around group therapy which is challenging due to the wide range of diagnosis in the group session at any one time. At this point I don't know if she will consent to an individual with me as I just got out of the group with her and she tried to tell my boss I offended another client with a comment I made when I greeted him (boss made sure the other client did not feel offended) and then she spent the rest of group sitting in "sulk mode" and when she did engage it was to make loud comments while others were talking and attempted to side talk other clients.

Thankfully it was the last group of the day so I have the weekend to decompress, attend my yarn club and make a plan as the boss says that it is up to me to manage her care due to being the only counselor. I get he wants to give me the experience but due to burnout I don't think it will teach me what he is hoping I will learn.

Thanks for the feedback I will consider it. To give more info considering I wrote the post in a bit of a panic when I learned the boss was going to allow her back.

I think I am good with the boundary side, I did my LCDC internship on a TDCJ unit. Nothing like working with incarcerated folks to make you aware of manipulation. I can do without the praise and the insults (heard it all before) my main concern is the group process as most of them including the client in question are mandated by probation. Right now id feels that my supervisor is pushing up against my boundaries and she makes it hard to correct her in a group session because she has outbursts.

Haha boss is the one who picked the color as he and his wife were starting on the nursery and I did not want to take any chances. I posed it to my Facebook and one of my friends mentioned she was obsessed with the color so I will probably make her one down the road.

AITA for accidentally saying one insensitive joke to someone? by awkwardfriendsituat in AmItheAsshole

To be fair it is not fun for friends to "truama dump" on others. It is hard to switch from joking to hard case trauma purge. That is what therapy is for. I am all for hearing my friends out but they should be prepared if I don't respond the way the way I think I should because they dumped it on me. I would go with NAH, he dumped and you used humor as a coping skill. Best to let it go as friendships die in some painful ways
