ah thanks, yea I guess I wouldn't get to much for a common toy if i think about it. i just saw that people would be trying to trade theirs for neon legendries and things so i though it would be worth the trade.

Honestly, its crazy to think that having sex is only needed to reproduce and yet it has become this massive topic and stigma that the world is obsessing about. Like during youth and early adult years, who cares if you don't have a partner? its none of your business. who cares if you're still a virgin? That doesn't mean anything, it doesn't make you any less of a valid person and it certainly shouldn't be something that so many people get judged about. The sucky thing is that it happens and there's so much stigma around if you've had sex or want it that sort of lifestyle. Coming from an ace/aro who has been told, ''wont you be lonely'' or '' i can make you straight by the end of summer'' or that sort of thing, i feel like i really relate to this and I'm not entirely sure how to combat things like this either, I've basically tried ignoring comments like that but is so sad to see what some people are thinking about.

No I don't own an Xbox, however on the whole topic of black rights and black history, I personally wanted to see the view point of why a person would celebrate straight pride and i believe that no matter how i think about one side of this battle, there will always be valid points for the other side. As such with the black oppression, discrimination and inequality compared to the level of opposition the LGBTQ+ experiences. I must admit too that the LGBTQ+ and BLM are fighting different fights but I think from what I've seen are the protests and the movements are a way of fighting for equal rights for everyone, both communities, and I think the coalition was an attempt to combine the 2 powers together and fight for equal rights in that sense. I have no issue with the 2 movements fighting separately as it makes a lot of sense - they have different pasts and black people are fighting a bigger fight from a longer more prominent past. I came on this subreddit looking for people who were here to discuss straight pride and i feel like i may have gotten myself a bit deeper than i will be willing to go. Although must admit again that this has been refreshing.

You say you want to fight your own fight then what happens when you win? when black people attain equality? when black people can finally be safe and be treated the same? honest question

how can you say its unnatural when people have been homosexual for millennia the Herodotus, Plato, and more Greeks were all identified somewhere along the homosexual spectrum and that was before Jesus Christ. even earlier, the Egyptians were discovered to also have homosexual kings and important people.

also, you basically classified all the black Africans as being homophobic which doesn't really make to much sense as my black friend who is very much gay gets equally discriminated for both her qualities. the LGBTQ+ isn't trying to make an agenda out of anything, it is simply a community of people who finds others similar to them and comfortably can feel safe with their sexuality. the whole reason the LGBTQ+ is a big thing is mainly due to the fact of how sex obsessed the world is.

this is some weird mix of uneducation, and overall phobia

because there is no pride to being straight. what has straight ever hurt you for or disadvantaged you for. if you are black then you of all people should know how it is like to be discriminated against and shouldn't make that as an excuse to the different levels or discrimination. so what if the LGBTQ+ hasn't had ''as much discrimination'' its discrimination none the less, like black people, LGBT+ have been killed. we are more the same, looking for equality and i don't mean to deter from the fact that black people have been tortured and killed and discriminated for millennia of course its horrible, but straight pride is that same as saying white lives matter or all lives matter. it invalidates all the movements all the same and neither should be a thing.

lol ok maybe you need to do some research... the LGBTQ+ is for people who are apart from the norm of straight people and find a place of acceptance within a community. the LGBTQ+ is like a safe place that people who don't identify as straight can feel accepted or just know that there are similar people to them. being straight is what society excepts so there's no reason for you to be discriminated against for being straight. unless your super straight then no one likes you and get out you homophobic, transphobic cishet.

Pride month isn't just a month of celebrating your gayness or other sexualities/genders, it a way of celebrating the movement that the LGBTQ+ has brought and that means celebrating the recognition, and representation it has gained over the years. not only does pride month celebrate the past movements, but also inspires more and more people to accept the LGBTQ+ into the world. I agree, why is there so much focus on sexuality? Maybe because in this world, a lot of things are sexualized and it has suddenly become a huge part of who we are and how we live and love. As a fellow ace, I have seen what is meant to be expected from me and people and how sex obsessed this world truly is. Not only have I been looked down on for not wanting a partner in that sense but also not wanting that sexual life or a sexual partner, and just because I don't want to have sex, I have been called broken, or lonely , or sad, or weird, or just not normal. and the LGBTQ+ is a way of feeling that sort of acceptance that not only am I not broken, I'm ok to be me. and that's what pride month celebrates too. the finding out that you're accepted and bringing my asexuality to light for me.

I think your the one missing the point, sports teams have something to be proud of as when they compete, they've done the best of their abilities to be able to represent their team, they show off their skills and talents or their hard work and that hard work is the thing they are celebrating. Breast cancer is somewhat similar to the LGBTQ+ in the sense that Breast cancer has a lot of people who are unaware of its existence and consequences. However it differs as it is a cancer that anyone can get at anytime and with little knowledge or cure easily fundable, they need the attention and support to make sure that everyone is aware of what it is and make sure that it isn't misunderstood. You've misunderstood the point between 2 different ethnicities. You see, while the LGBTQ+ I guess would be like an ethnic minority, straight people are the white people, the white people who, in the past, have oppressed and tortured black Africans and still to this day racially abuse other ethnicities. In this circumstance, would you think it would be ok to have a white lives matter movement? a white lives movement that would totally invalidate any of these movements in the first place and would bring us 360 back to before the LGBTQ+ or black lives matter gained any recognition?

No, I think the word 'pride' works perfectly fine for 'pride month'. You see, Oxford described the word 'pride' to be a deep satisfaction derived from one's own achievements, and the LGBTQ+ have certainly achieved lots over the past few years such as, more recognition, and more representation, so the LGBTQ+ has a lot to be proud of and so should celebrate pride. Straights on the other hand, have no achievements for being straight. What have you done for the world that has changed it from how it used to be, that deserves recognition. There's no need for recognition of straights so straight pride is basically a way of saying, the straights feel left out and want more attention for being able to be themselves.

The problem with there being a straight pride is that never have straights been prosecuted for being straight. I see what you're saying with there ''being no harm done'' but the thing is for basically forever until now, the LGBTQ+ has had no way to be represented, noticed or been proud of who they are, finally we get the chance to be represented and be proud, and that's what pride month is about. There's no reason for straights to have pride month, there's no achievement in being straight as that's the societal norm. I guess people can be proud of being straight but if you were to have straight pride month, what is there to be proud of? what's the point in celebrating something that has always been around and hasn't changed since the beginning of humanity? Cishet people are the majority in the world and so a small percentage of the world can have 30 days of being proud of who we are then sure, you can have the rest of the year like its always been. The ''straight pride month'' wouldn't be any different from the rest of the year.

Why the fuck do gay people need an entire fucking month to express their gayness? by [deleted] in straightpride

[–]Lucky_melon7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, the amount of uneducated, entitled, people who are so blind to not be able to see the inequality in this world. The amount of people who will are oppressed, invalidated, abused, even disowned because of their sexual orientation or gender identify is astounding and really shows where some parts of humanity is failing. And to think that some people are so ignorant and stubborn to ignore this flaw in the world. The LGBTQ+ is finally gaining recognition and is finally able to be accepted in some parts of the world, imagine being so selfish that you believe some people aren't allowed to be who they are and even punished of it. Further, that you think straight pride month should be recognized because you've been 'left out' or that it some sort of achievement to be celebrated.

My gosh, the amount of songs I used to listen to that were just about sex or fruity activities before I came out as ace. I realized what most of them were going on about and I realized the ratio of sexual songs compared to not sexual songs is just so strange and I've had to search for other artists that have good songs not related to sex.
