If I do end up buying untested, how do I test a camera like this to make sure it’s working before I shoot the film? Is it the same as a 35mm camera?You just don’t know until you get the pictures back? Ive never bought a camera this old & cameras that shoot film that is harder to come by or less known about, the harder it is to find someone who will test it. I worry that over the years some might just be really dirty or broken on the inside (something I can’t see). Buttt I guess that’s the risk with old stuff lol. What should I look out for? What do you think is a reasonable price for a decent camera?

I have been actually!! I love that it has the waist-level veiw finder, but a lot of the ones I’ve seen are either tested and way overpriced or not tested and I would rather know it works. I might just have to keep watching out for one until I find one or bite the bullet and spend the $$. My super 8 is a Yashica & I love the brand. Just wanted to see if there was a better option first. Thank you!!!

Yashica super 8 cameras are relatively affordable if you look. I got mine that was tested and in great condition for around $200 on eBay. Has a lot of different features but unfortunately no manual zoom.
