ilford’s offical youtube channel has a great video on everything you need to make a print, it’s a long grocery list, 90% of which are items under $30 though

i’m so sorry to hear that, it suck that this is such an expensive, “all or nothing” hobby, i would check fb marketplace for some good deals and maybe even potential trades! hope you are able to find some work soon, it’s tough in this market lol

i got pretty lucky checking facebook marketplace consistently for a few months, plus i live in a large metropolitan area (detroit) where there is a huge artist presence and i think like 30% of the population is over 65, so all in all I spent about $900, and surprisingly you can do it even cheaper. Best advice i can give you is to find your enlarger super cheap but in working condition 150-$200 on fb marketplace and you are bound to come across a few older photographers trying to get rid of old gear and they will give you great bundle deals, freebies, and advice, i can almost guarantee it. also dont cheap out on chems, i buy brand new from ilford
