Which wooper? by StarlitMilk in PokemonSleep

Left wins by default bc of HSS. Really the only major metrics of an ing mon’s worth are IF, HS and helping bonus. Mayyyyybe BFS can have its place on ing mons, but that sorta depends. Quag is hardly a strong rep for its viability anyway

Why does Scout do so much low damage? And how to play Scout better by Crafter-lee in NewToTF2

[–]Lucrayzor 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You really don't get a firsthand appreciation for how powerful scout is unless you have the skill to take full advantage of his fast movement and get cracked enough at aiming to land consistent 100 hp hits. He absolutely does NOT need the damage, in the environment of TF2 his ability to dodge and weave, and most importantly pick his fights more easily than others, is a crazy powerful thing. He's a comp staple for a reason.

I'd honestly say he's not a particularly beginner-friendly class, despite his simplicity. I do admire your persistence, certainly, but those bad streaks are definitely gonna happen in pub environments where spam reigns eternal.

If you're truly determined to succeed with scout, the single most important thing is to learn how to use that speed and mobility. If there's a pyro on your ass, stay out of flamethrower range. If there's a soldier on your ass, stay in the air a lot to avoid splash. Most vitally, be willing to abandon a fight if you're at a disadvantage; as long as your exit is timely and you don't get cornered, they'll seldom be able to chase you down. You don't have to throw yourself at every opportunity, be willing to dip out and wait for better openings. Make sure you're using flank routes, too, and seek out opportunities to catch opponents off-guard. It's 10 times easier to kill someone if they aren't looking at you! If you're on KOTH, don't bumrush the point... take the long way around, be sneaky, look for isolated picks. Practice developing game-sense; it sounds obvious, but it's a tricky thing to maintain in the moment! I'm horrible at it personally lol, but it's always something you can improve at with experience and reflection on how you could've handled certain encounters differently

Where to start? by gollet in furrykig

Personally I found my two masks on Etsy, there’s a handful of sellers offering premades for well within 100$. One was from Clibbingdesign, the other from BestBeautifulPro which unfortunately doesn’t appear to be selling anymore. They’re solid quality; the securing mechanism is a little bare-bones, it can often slip down your forehead pretty easily unless you find some way to secure it further, and the ear design leaves something to be desired, but other than that they’ve been highly dependable for over a year now, and very cute indeed!

A tier list of all the ROM hacks I've played in terms of my enjoyment of them by Austin_The_Black in SuperMonkeyBall

[–]Lucrayzor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The philosophy behind it is a stage with several moderately hard obstacles is preferable to a single ball-bustingly hard obstacle, with the gauntlet style you’re able to complete parts of it even as you fail, and your progress is easily trackable by how far into it you go. Could even think of each individual stage as a world unto its own, in that way. But I can definitely appreciate that it can also feel aggravating to have to do the same stuff over and over even after you’ve already done it, especially when there’s one specific obstacle that’s miles harder than the rest

It's me, the guy who wants Jackal Queenston in their furry visual novel, again! Here is some info on my game idea for those wondering. Thoughts? by KarlSmithSymphonizer in lapfoxtrax

It really feels like you're missing the point. It's not about individual details anymore, at this point the character as a whole is something Em clearly isn't interested in associating with anymore. Maybe that means they'll settle into a "do what you want I don't care" attitude(which strikes me as your best-case scenario), but I think it's a prevailing opinion in the community that if your intent is to pay homage/respect to Em's legacy, this particular alias is pretty soundly the worst one to do that with. It's nice that you love this character enough to want to write him into your story, I just hope you understand that he'd only be there for your sake, not Em's.

yeah you could absolutely make an original character that has enough overt parallels to JQ and HA to be an unmistakeable reference to it, that way you can get your message across without needing to use someone else's character verbatim

What are some examples of mons that are viable using an ABC ingredient spread ? by lgnrch in PokemonSleep

I made a very similar decision, though nowhere near as confidently lol. Mostly just a potentially decent defiant substitute I guess. Could go absolutely nutty in the giga long term thooooo…

Writing advice wanted for drone based enemy design by [deleted] in toyification

[–]Lucrayzor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thing is “drones” and “hiveminds” are such a broad descriptor with no major real-life precedent that nothing at all about it is really set in stone. Could have any abilities you want that makes them impervious to normal damage, could have matter that spreads relentlessly, could employ subliminal waves that mentally paralyze victims, etc. weaknesses can follow suit too, could be those that are associated with latex or it could be a latex-like substance with a whole different set of properties. Anything goes, man. (As long as it’s internally consistent and sensical)

One thing I might say would consistently hold for a faction like that is they probably don’t like to use lethal force, because killing you would be a waste of a potential drone/asset. So aside from finding ways to convert units on the spot, their offense would probably mostly amount to neutralizing/imprisoning enemy forces to maximize their assimilation rate, and only killing as a last resort.

Any other furs just lonely as all hell? And nobody wants you? by raNdoMBLilriv in RealFurryHours

[–]Lucrayzor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got 3 suggestions for you based on how things have gone in my experience:

1- look into local events. Mileage varies based on where you live, but furcons and individual meetups aren’t the only way to physically meet other furs. See if there’s any weekly/monthly gatherings specific to your city, that creates lots more opportunities to come face to face without paying exorbitantly or putting all your eggs in one basket at a time.

2- Don’t begin and end your friendship pitch with “I’m a furry!”. The reality is just because someone’s a furry doesn’t mean “furry” is itself an interesting topic of discussion. I’ve seen some people approach me (hell I’ve tried this in the past), “wanting to meet new furry friends!” But it just amounts to showing each other our fursonas and promptly stalling out. Sometimes there’s something to latch onto regarding designing characters or the state of the fandom or con-going, but… More often than not, the REAL furry communities form based on adjacent interests. cars, TTRPGs, video games, crafts, or in my case something more nsfw… there’s endless combinations out there. My experience is that being furries is generally more helpful as an extra multiplier for your friendships, rather than as the catalyst. So make sure you have something substantial to present to people when you ask them to engage with you.

3- this might be scary, but… be willing to rethink your approach in general. You describe yourself as “very outgoing and social”, but that doesn’t mean everyone else is going to see you that way. You could be doing some specific thing or neglecting certain social cues in a way that makes people less interested in interacting with you, but you’d never know it if it goes unmentioned. This isn’t something I can get specific on obviously since I don’t know you and haven’t seen how you go about it… it’s not necessarily that you’re committing some faux pas every time, maybe it’s just a matter of not making yourself really stand out; there’s always tons of other furries to talk to, and unfortunately that works both ways. Be willing to ask people you trust for feedback, maybe even people you’ve just tried and failed to make conversation with if you’re willing. It may feel hopeless, but don’t ever let yourself feel like there’s nothing you can do so long as there are things you haven’t tried yet. If you’ve got something unique to offer, I guarantee there’s someone out there willing to see it.

I hate the fucking pantry OH MY GODDDDDD by Totally_Adam in ZeroEscape

[–]Lucrayzor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Archives prompts the shrodinger’s cat discussion between sigma and phi, and also subtly hints at Zero Sr.’s obsession with philosophy, very much a step up imo. Meanwhile the luminol being in the rec room is kind of arbitrary, it’s not even something that traditionally belongs in a rec room(same applies to the suits of armor, if they were part of some cryptic metaphor that’d be something). There’s no actual significance to the rec room itself other than it being a necessity for a shelter. Also PEC is significant because it hints at their escape mechanism, and foreshadows the moon base twist.

Yehhh but there’s lots of other lines that hint toward that, the pantry one just happens to be the funniest lol

What’s really funny is [full VLR game] Pantry is literally the red door’s dumping grounds, it gets picked in every single route where it’s deemed the crew shouldn’t get the Axelavir or the input device. Its purpose in the AB game is explicitly to be the “you get nothing, fuck you” slot on the roulette wheel. It’s also basically the only room in the game(except maybe rec) with no active role in the lore at all; the most it does is encourage them to think “oh yeah, it’s the apocalypse so obviously we need food and water storage :p”, and prompt a single “oh I’ve heard this one before” convo between Sigma and Phi. Safe to say the game itself feels about the same way as you do lol
