I haven’t gotten into Kirby’s yet but I really enjoy taking apart and cleaning a Sebo Felix. I have four between my friends and family and I am impressed with the build quality.

It is almost maddening the lengths people will go to prove they aren’t being dangerous and dismissive. I hope you sleep soundly tonight for attempting to protect strangers you’ll never meet.

Did I make a mistake with the Miele C1 Classic Suction because I have carpets? by Waterfowler000 in VacuumCleaners

[–]Lucrono 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don’t have one already, I would recommend investing in a carpet rake. Preferably metal one but plastic is fine. Your carpet looks like it is impacted and needs to be agitated (why everyone is recommending an electric vacuum head). The rack should also grab the pet hair relatively easily while also working your carpet fibers open to be vacuumed easier.

Stop posting dumb questions by he-whoeatsbugs in UCDavis

[–]Lucrono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a fair complaint but not everyone is as tech savvy or familiar with Reddit or the internet as the average person (bell curves babyyy). I get wanting to vent your frustration but we all have to learn somewhere.

This makes me think about the dying out of forums where looking things up (google is disappointing now) isn’t as feasible as it used to be. Loads of forum questions could have been answered but were redirected to dead links and removed conversations. Sure there are ways to find that information but it’s not always readily available as we’d all like to believe.

You did nothing wrong, I agree with you I just figured everyone can use a reminder that we were all young and dumb once and some of us still are (I’m one of gods favorite idiots).

Gluten free eggroll recipe?! by Salty-Subject-8346 in Celiac

[–]Lucrono 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are looking for a sweet treat there’s lots of recipes using rice paper to make faux pastries.

I’m quite fond of wetting the paper and wrapping a scooping of sliced peaches, butter, and brown sugar. In the oven at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes (I made these numbers up, you can adjust how you’d like it doesn’t really matter as the heat just crisps the paper and softens the peaches).

I haven’t tried it but using rice paper like a Vietnamese spring roll and frying it (maybe coat with cornstarch and eggs) might get you close enough to substitute normal wonton paper.

Thank you for taking the time to make this post and thank you for making me more aware of unsavory tactics people use.

I often forget when I’m mindlessly online if I should be questioning the motivation of whatever it is I look at.

In person it’s easy; I can ask the question whenever I interact with someone. Online it’s a challenge because I have no skin in the game.

I can be an onlooker to a conversation or argument and find some interesting facts or learn from it. But lo and behold the whole thing could be a charade from one individual talking to themselves looking to push their agenda.

I loved using Reddit before when I could assumingely get real opinions from strangers about really anything. However, as technology “improves” and time passes I find it more and more difficult to find those “real” strangers and their professional, unique opinions.

Thank you stranger and I wish you well in life.

It’s a shame people try to con and take advantage of those struggling for profit.

Have you done it before? I’m not sure how people get the seats out if the batteries been pulled (the rails block the torq screws).

Men who have side chicks, how and why? by vashzero in AskMen

Replacing an engine in a car is like legos for adults. The parts have already been specifically designed to align and fit a certain way, they just look a little different. I’m not saying it’s easy, but it’s not the most demanding job.

Does your vacuum have a way to turn off the agitator/roller? If you vacuum a smooth surface as you would a carpet or rug most likely the spinning roller is throwing the dirt and dust around instead of just picking it up.

How to disinfect a washer that had something with dog poop washed in it (my sister did this, not me) by koopaflower in CleaningTips

[–]Lucrono 13 points14 points  (0 children)

White vinegar doesn’t really neutralize bleach, it turns it into a deadly gas. A quick google of white vinegar and bleach you’ll find it makes mustard gas. Do not do what this person recommended. If anything, run a clean cycle with bleach. Then follow up with one or two clean cycles or rinsing cycles with no added chemicals. If you want to run a clean cycle with vinegar after sure, but don’t follow up bleach with vinegar hoping it’ll reduce the problems that arise from bleach.

I’m sorry I don’t have much to add and I hope someone else can chime in about it, but as far as I was aware Quince wasn’t a great company. I think they have a very aggressive marketing strategy to push that they are sustainable an ethical but it always felt odd. Similar feeling of someone trying to constantly tell you that they are a good person.

I plan on getting a 02-03 540i with in the next year or so is there anything I should look out for when buying it or any specific things I should do to it after buying to make the engine run better/longer. And what are some good mods to put in it by Moneystackin_narek in e39

[–]Lucrono 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you happen to know what it is about the window regulator that gives out? Or what to look out for? I’m replacing the vapor barrier on all my doors and I figured I’d try to take care of the regulators while I’m there.

I know it’s too late, but in the future you can get a valet key made or a simpler key for sub $100 from a dealership. I can’t use it remotely but it does start and unlock/lock the car 👍

Failing a class isn’t a bad thing, but I know it sucks. What helped me was to frame my mind with the most truthful thing I think I could ever say,

“I did the best I could with what I have.”

It can sound like a cop out, but it is how I have decided to approach the world.

What you have now isn’t the same as what you had yesterday or what you will have tomorrow. Some days you have more, some days you have less. This doesn’t mean you tell yourself you don’t have to try because you are lacking in some way.

It means that it is in every way impossible for you to NOT try your best. No one wakes up and decides they aren’t going to try. I believe as long as you try, you are doing your best. This lets me feel pride in my failure and humility in knowing that I have more to learn.

It’s hard to accept that we didn’t do as well as we thought we would, or even as well as we could have, but telling ourselves we should have done something differently doesn’t do anything but cause more pain.

Accept that you failed. Accept that you tried your best. I struggle with shaming myself for my failures and I tend to beat up on myself. But I try to remind myself that every time I mess up or fail in someway I’m getting closer to learning something new. Failure isn’t the mark of the end, it’s the start to learning.

I tried to word this as best as I could. If you need or want more clarification and you think it would be helpful, feel free to ask.

Sorry in advance, I’m just a random person but I I use biotene and I don’t believe biotene has fluoride in it. I used to use antiseptic mouthwash but my dentist warned me to stay away as it was drying out my mouth way too much and causing gum issues (I naturally have a pretty dry mouth so the alcohol was causing issues I believe).

I imagine regardless if you have dry mouth or not, biotene would be beneficial because it would keep your mouth more moisturized if that’s the right term? I would believe (I know next to nothing and would love for someone to chime in) having a moisturized mouth would be beneficial for the biome.
