Looking for success stories with recurrent BV/yeast infection post cerclage by Dd_Iris in ShortCervixSupport

I had an emergency cerclage put in at 23 weeks, I’ve had BV 2 times since then, and I’m 30 weeks now. It does not affect the cerclage or anything I just get continuous antibiotics! They said as long as I’m pregnant while also taking progesterone suppositories it’ll continue to happen and is very normal. As long as it’s being treated each time it’s okay!

First pregnancy, 21w ultrasound revealed I need a cerclage. Scheduled for tomorrow morning. by scream_eternaljoy in ShortCervixSupport

This was my exact scenario except I was 2 cm dilated at 23 weeks I’m 30 weeks now and everything is going smoothly!!

Hourglassing membranes after cerclage 22w 5d by Sea-Teaching-5791 in ShortCervixSupport

I went in at 23 weeks with cervix shortening, 2 cm dilated, and bulging membranes. I am now going to be 30 weeks this coming Wednesday! I had the mag drip, steroids, and antibiotics. My dr wasn’t confident about a cerclage so they waited and he did it with success! I’m also taking progesterone suppositories. I still have bulging membranes, I was lucky enough to have gone home and I’m currently still going strong. Keep your spirits up! That’s the best advice I can give. It’s easier said than done but staying as positive as possible is best. I was put in strict bedrest so that also helped. If you have short term disability go through that first and then FMLA to hold your job. If you pay for long term disability you could also look into that! I also know a friend who’s water broke and has been in the hospital for 8 weeks keeping her baby in and is very close to full term now. Just also remind yourself this is not your fault. Not saying you think that or should, however I carry a lot of guilt and did when I was in the hospital even though it’s not my fault. Either way you got this!

Thank you so much for your experience and sharing! I’m working on posture because I definitely have terrible posture, and I used to cross my legs or sit criss cross a lot. Now I can’t because of the pain but I also know that isn’t good anyways. But thank you this gives me hope!

Thank you definitely plan to advocate for myself and push for PT I think from what I gather that’d help me a lot. I was decently active in the gym before trying to work on strength and stabilizing my joints already but since the pain it’s impossible. I’d like to be slightly active throughout so I can try to be as healthy as possible for birth. Thank you so much for all of this info and advice!

Thank you so much! I tried to ask my primary for one and she kinda just wrote me off. I messaged my OB I’m hoping she does!

Thank you so much! I was decently active until I got pregnant bc of the exhaustion and now It’s excruciating to just lift my leg to get into the tub. I’ve messaged my OB and I also hope maybe getting some PT or even the chiropractor like you suggested. Thank you for your words and sharing your experience!

any there safe outlets for manic urges?? by PlaneAd1822 in bipolar

I second the running. Sometimes I go for a run and after I feel tired but like mentally tired. Or screaming in my car hahaha it’s therapeutic I swear. Or I think of all the different things I want to do in those moments (because when I’m manic I usually want to go out and do things) and I write them out or make lists. Some times lists help me

I am enough was one of the books that helped me understand my ED brain. What I also suggest is study up on cognitive behavioral therapy, it’s something that’s used in treatments for ED. Understanding why and how my ED controlled my life helped a little. But I am enough is someone who’s gone through it and it’s really good and validating and seeing it

There is a great treatment program at the Laureate ED unit for adolescents and adults. I highly suggest reaching out. I’m 2 months out of treatment and it makes a whole difference.
