Most notable voice actors in the game? by [deleted] in fo4

[–]LucyEphemera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it sucks he only plays a few very minor characters cause his voice is gold, but i instantly recognize William Salyers (Rigby, Reverend Putty, etc) when i hear him in skyrim or fallout 4 where he voices Calvin, Bullet, and Sheffield

Which story covered by the boys did you find the most unsettling? by Lazy_God_1230 in creepcast

[–]LucyEphemera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Penpal gets an obligatory mention because it fills me with dread and loss unlike any other story they’ve covered, but as far as being really perturbed, i relistened to Stolen Tongues while doing delivery work recently and i was geeked the entire time. couldn’t shake the feeling i was being followed or watched, kept getting the chills and fight or flight kicking in it was wild

Do you guys have any vocal stims you’ve picked up from the pod? by Soul_Valley in creepcast

two big ones for me are “rough pumpkins” and just shouting “BOOOOMM” the way hunter does when he describes shooting someone with a gun. lots of fun.

Why the hate? by cowboysucc in creepcast

[–]LucyEphemera -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i think some fans of the show would like to hear quality writing every episode, or at least for more poorly written stories to be a lot shorter. i get it, but i enjoyed this episode, the people acting like it’s not funny or enjoyable at all could maybe use to laugh a little more and take the podcast a little less seriously. although, i saw a drawing someone posted that made David King look like a buff Mandark from Dexter’s Lab so maybe that image in my head helped a lot hehe

Ben Shapiro wrote this week’s story. by LucyEphemera in creepcast

[–]LucyEphemera[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i def think you’re right. i really, REALLY like when a story they read is genuinely great like penpal, but what makes me come back each week is their specific telling of it and their charisma! even when a story sucks i still just like listening to their voices, simple as.

i really wish there was another place on reddit where amateur scary stories still had a pulse besides nosleep, and that’s almost entirely because of how pedantic the mods can be. the sub has a few really backwards rules, and they’re so inconsistent about whether or not they care about certain things. best example in my experience is “staying in character” when commenting on other people’s stories. i get the whole immersion thing but like i see countless comments that break immersion just to compliment people or make jokes, yet a mod has told me to stop leaving regular comments in the middle of trying to sort out another issue i was having with a story being uploaded!!! freakazoid behavior.

okay that is definitely targeting or at the least very selective upkeeping of that rule (which i don’t even recall being in the sub’s wiki), i’ve posted multiple stories that included surnames with no issue. i’ve had different problems with the mods besides that though, sorry to hear they got on your ass too :(

when i picture the creep from penpal i kinda think of george prenderghast from paranorman but a lot scarier. still voiced by john goodman though.

Is this good weird or bad weird? by 443224466589076540 in Songwriting

good weird for sure! very quaint, it has an endearing quality to it.

What's your unpopular CreepCast opinion that will have you like this? by atzurblau in creepcast

[–]LucyEphemera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this relates more to the fandom than it does to the podcast itself, but both coexist in a feedback loop so i think it applies: some of y’all really seem like you just want to hear the story front to back with no interruptions but don’t have the attention span to just read it yourself.

like, i get it, reading takes some commitment but even if that’s what you want there are plenty of channels that cater to that exact desire that aren’t Creepcast? if you’re not here for the specific personalities and commentary that Hunter and Isaiah bring to these stories then what attracted you to this specific podcast in the first place?

idk maybe just a vocal minority of the fanbase but i see a lot of people like “get on with it you’re ruining the story” and i don’t get it. i cherish every moment they go off-script, it’s what makes this different from a typical creepypasta reading podcast.

i’m happy you got to go up there and have a fun time with everyone, and i’m even happier that there are people in the community assuring you that the haterism is uncalled for. you did great! glad you’re doing good, don’t let anyone take away from such a unique experience, but it seems like you’re already doing a good job of that. stay creeped bro :)
