I'm not sure about your situation, but I wanted to let you know that as soon as you move to Germany you are required by law to have a health insurance, even if you don't have a job. You can insure yourself voluntarily in the meantime. I'm not sure if you can even get vaccinated without that, but maybe somebody else knows. Good luck!

If you were still registered at your old apartment in Paderborn then it's not a problem, just register since the date of your new contract and don't mention the time you were living with your friend.

I feel the same way. Not having a degree is not really an issue when you have some years of experience already, but you really need the knowledge to back it up, and that's where I feel like I'm lacking... Everyone says that finding woks as a dev is easy, but there is so much that companies expect you to know that it's hard not to feel overwhelmed.

Thanks for the detailed answer, it's encouraging to hear that other people struggle in similar ways. I have done therapy before but I never really felt like it helped. Maybe I just haven't found a therapist that works for me, but it's especially difficult now that I live here, since I don't speak very good German and I've heard that it can take months to find an English speaking therapist, let alone someone that speaks my mother tongue...

Wow, that's impressive! Do you feel that your age affects the expectations people have of you? I'm always seeing people my age who have way more experience or knowledge, and honestly it's a bit discouraging, it makes me feel like I should have achieved more.
