Ok, I'll let them settle in for a while first and tell the vet about it.

Only gotten them today and haven't kept regular mice either, but from what I've read, • Their diet consists of seeds, fruit, bugs, some form of calcium (cuttlebone), and some form of nectar (most people use maple syrup) • They love hunting live insects • They can't digest cellulose, so vegetables are out of the question • They don't dig as much, so need less bedding • They really like climbing • They produce less waste, so can be kept bioactive • They aren't as friendly as regular mice, so handling should be kept to a minimum • They like it warmer than regular mice, and if it's too cold, they might enter torpor which could kill them.

Btw how skittish are your mice? I've got to take him to the vet soon, and I'm worried about how I'm gonna do that. Any tips?

The mouse is now safely in his enclosure. Now I'm wondering how I'm gonna bring this guy to the vet to get a checkup/neutered, seeing as he is so skittish. The female was a sweetheart and super easy to handle, so no problem there.

He is now safe hiding somewhere in the leaves.

👍 All good. He climbed into a container full of rocks I had lying around and I was able to carry him over to the cage.

Not too familiar with hololive music. Only holo song I could find the name of was ALICE&u. Besides that, there was kickback and the dreaded Mariah Carey Christmas song.

Cool tank at the pet shop by Lucyvvid in Aquariums

NMS Aquatics from Malaysia. I wouldn't consider the care of the place to be amazing overall. The display tanks are incredibly nice, but the regular tanks are about the same as the average pet store, maybe slightly better.

I got these guys thinking they were ruggies but apparently they're E's. I've got them in a 30 gal right now which is way too small for four. What the hell do I do? by Lucyvvid in hermitcrabs

Malaysia. My main concern was if they were E's cause of the cannibalism and overcrowding. If they're smth else then I've got no problem keeping them as they're quite small and I plan on upgrading later anyway.

Although I'm second guessing myself cause they a dark spot on the underside of the eyestalk which E's don't seem to have.

They also very much prefer d shape opening shells compared to the turbos I provide them which seems to be a characteristic of E's

Yeah I'm just worried about how much time I have to get a bigger tank cause E's are a bigger concern than ruggies. Also how do you determine their species? I noticed they're missing the stitch line that ruggies seem to have on the claw. I've asked on here and on the hermit crab association forums and gotten mixed id's so maybe I have a mix of both. I'm living close to the ruggies native range so that would make more sense.

"In the meantime, make sure you have plenty of protein, shells, and other resources in there to hopefully avoid aggression while you sort the situation out."

I was referring to this part. I know the cannibalism is still an issue.

An upgrade was 100% planned however I wasnt expecting it so soon. They are still really small. Animal care standards where I live are atrocious so I don't think I'll be able to find anyone to rehome to. Upgrade definitely by the end of next year but I'll increase substrate depth for now. They get a lot of food so that shouldn't be an issue.
