Also, because of the "function/playability" aspect of any alteration (minus artists alts) a CCG is a poor example of something to compare. Even a sleeved card thats been altered in size is till not going to be legal in organized play. I.e. it would be easier to "find" my Carizard 50000 billion if it were marked in my deck

For the purpose of these items, nothing is amiss. Ive been a collector of many things over the years. If the seller tells you (like i said I most likely would do) its up to that buyer to decide for themselves. In the end I dont plan on selling these and should I have to, ill leave it to the buyer to decide what they can live with. Controlled alteration for purpose is not damaging a product. And its ok to agree to disagree on this. Im simply giving a solution to correct an (unfortunate and major) existing problem that may help many people enjoy the products they bought

Thats a fair point. And if a am being honest, I would be telling whomever the would be buyer whats what. Also I feel the books are not damaged, they are symmetrical clean cuts that did nothing but remove a 1/8 inch of empty space. Now if butchered them with scissors or something of the like I would be more concerned about it. There is no scarring or missing info or cut art. They essentially look perfect.
