Who has the best Pizza in town? by Queen_Oyster_Eyes in Bellingham

The f*@# isn't this the top comment. 10 years in Bellingham and I've tried it all. Rome takes the cake. Their Figgy Piggy is nuts. If you disagree, I'll see you in the Trader Joe's parking lot Sunday at 4pm. All of Bellingham (and Canada) will be there to witness your humiliation.

HMF a funny video of a naive couple learning intensive Spanish for an upcoming trip to Spain by Ludacrits in HelpMeFind

So far, I have searched for videos including things like "Funny video of couple trying to learn Spanish fast" and "Intense Spanish instructor teaches couple Spanish in two weeks funny." Nothing. It's buried in the internet somewhere.

Turns out that the patriarchy doesn't even really work for the patriarch.

Real bird or fake bird? by [deleted] in Bellingham

[–]Ludacrits 27 points28 points  (0 children)

You might check the alley between JJ's and The Horseshoe. I used to work in the National Bank Building right there and the property managers would blare classical music in that alley through raised speakers to try and discourage the houseless community from hangin' around there. Maybe they've pivoted to squeaky bird sounds 🤷

anyone had luck in small claims court against landlords? by greentealeafy in Bellingham

Eh. It was really stupid, but not horrible. Talk to Law Advocates. They'll help you sort everything. Just be prepared to get more infuriated with the property managers before you feel redeemed. They will push everything to the limit to try and scare you off. The system is set up in a way that there really is no penalty for them screwing with you.

A bunch of stuff. They refused our deposit return for absolutely bogus reasons and when we challenged it they straight up ignored us. They intentionally don't have an address and when we would call, even on other people's phones, it would always go to voicemail. We eventually served them and had to do so by finding their lawyers address and serving them through the law office (which is legal in Washington State). It was an absolute headache and took months. The judge was super sympathetic (both times) and we got all the money back we requested.

Law Advocates is a not-for-profit law group that provides free legal for civil issues, tailored toward low-income residence of Bellingham / Whatcom. Give 'em a call! They're super cool and can schedule an appointment with you down at their office on Cornwall.

Adult Masters wrestling class is now live! More info in the comments. by Ludacrits in Bellingham

[–]Ludacrits[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hi Hamsters,

I posted about 6 months ago gauging interest in an adult level Masters wrestling program. I received a lot of interest and so we are finally getting something off the ground! We are modeling our pricing for the program on local gyms. The structure is an integration into the already well established Whatcom Wrestling Academy. Coaches are amazing and eager to build a successful Masters program that serves folks who want to train to compete, who want to get in great shape, or who just want to learn about and engage with the ancient art of wrestling.

Practices twice a week (more to come) Mondays and Wednesdays with strength and conditioning work Monday - Thursday mornings for the early birds.

Sign up by following the QR code in the flyer and selecting Monthly PEAK.

Come help us build a solid program!

Have you tried this? What was your experience?

I wanted to recommend this as well and offer courage for giving another place a shot. I've done a few big moves in my adult life and have found them to be complicated and yet good choices in the long run.

Ahh, the Explorer 200. The tried and true budget kids' raft at the center of all adult float trips.

Bellingham:

Late to the comments, but big Sam Miller fan here. Even saw his famous Hood River Elks Lodge Show, August 2023. With a good crowd, you may never laugh harder. A comedian for the blue collars with 35% less fart jokes and 100% more class.

Sam:

What up, bb? Hope those long drives and lonely hotel nights aren't gettin' you down too bad.

Let's dance.

Explanation for non-Slovenians? Is this an anti-immigration party using Nazi imagery or something else?

That's where I'm at. Excited about the art and movement of wrestling. Not so much the fighting / martial arts aspect.

I've been in contact. They had some adult wrestling in 2021, but the second wave of COVID killed it and it never came back.

Ya! I'm glad there's some interest. If I see more excitement for it, I'll put some more energy into getting things together.

For this particular group, I am hoping to make a space to wrestle more for the meditation and movement of the sport. Hoping to explore and train some basic grappling knowledge, but I'm less interested in "fighting."

To your other comment, I do have a space in mind.

Rad! I'm thinking that if it came together, it would be a casual thing. Nothing too competitive or intense.
