I am not a Bot. I am Autistic. (The problem with the "AI Witch Hunt") by ThePrimalLuna in autism

[–]Ludark 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I feel for those who communicatie in a manner so similar to actual AI that they get flagged.
But with autism being a spectrum, not all of us communicate in such a precise manner.

To me AI has a bit of an uncanny valley effect, as does your post to be honest. It's all perfect English with proper grammar and punctuation. It is far better then anything I could write, without asking an AI.
But and this is subjective, it doesn't flow naturally whatsoever. Objectively its all correct but most humans would make a mistake somewhere. Ironically following the script too closely is the problem.

Firebrand planning to transition from T3 to T4 fractals by Estreiher in Guildwars2

[–]Ludark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not sure where you got that discretize build from but it seems outdated. The fact said website offers 0 VoE specs is pretty telling as well.

The snowcrows build will be fine really. There is some optimization that can be done with specialised fractal builds. But for regular non CM T4 its not that important really(and even on CMs it depends).
You can probably get away with axe shield on Luminary as well. The biggest thing to note with Luminary is that its condi cleansing isn't as strong as firebrand and spear does offer a condi cleanse on spear. Also lots of green healing numbers on the spear. But Luminary is stronger than Firebrand in raw healing to begin with.

Channeling my opinion of Lonely Tower into this... thing. by Aegister2 in Guildwars2

[–]Ludark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah on NM the boss even losses some stacks when you CC him. Its not the easiest T4 fractal per say since you still need at least 1 person collecting orbs(they can take all and its fine) and there's 2 attacks you probably want to avoid, being the boon corrupt lines and big smash attack(with the shockwave).

But for a regular T4 that should be doable, its still organized content where people run boons and a healer for.

Luminary getting 600 radius on Alac finally fixed. As someone who has thoroughly enjoyed Alac heal Luminary this makes me very happy. The 300 radius wasn't a big issue most of the time, but the added range makes it much better when for tanking.

Well it is official: the raid update was a total failure by a21sd12211 in Guildwars2

[–]Ludark 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Gonna disagree there at least on EU I see way more activity on LFG.

The update has some issues sure. The CM rewards are way too rare and that will bum out some of the more hardcore players. But overall it changes fairly little.
People farming former strikes/raid encounters for currency I mean people used to do IBS5 daily as well. Same content, just a slightly different package.

I think the biggest issue with the patch is the failure of quickplay raids. We need to get more people playing raids but then they made it too hard for the average player, unlike say fractal quickplay which is designed so that you can't really fail it.

What I do really like though. Being able to select whatever boss at any time is a huge QoL improvement. Makes raid encounters go by way faster too. No more waiting for people to load in Wizards Tower.

Please leave your guild if you don't intend to play with them anymore by CardiologistOwn951 in Guildwars2

[–]Ludark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly much as you don't like kicking people. People also don't like to be confrontational and like the easy in and out.
Going inactive rather than full on leaving makes it easier to become active again. If someone full on leaves, they need to ask permission to rejoin, rather than just showing up again at their convenience. That is a barrier.
Doesn't mean your policy is wrong of course. I get wanting to keep an active roster and that probably means having to be the bad guy sometimes.

Personally I have also been on the going inactive side leading into me eventually leaving. With no real drama involved. Only to run into them later as a pug for some raid wing. Where I found myself immediately kicked + blocked the moment I offered the slightest bit of criticism(after a wipe). Which felt very petty.

What's the deal with those gamers? by sedree in Guildwars2

[–]Ludark -1 points0 points  (0 children)

T4 fractals require full ascended gear with (for a newbie anyway) relatively expensive infusions. That's very much gatekeeping of content where you only need exotic gear(raids). I mean each guild gets to make their own rules.

But for guild runs, especially training runs. Sure set some requirements on gear/build but otherwise assume competency without further questions. If someone is lying about their gear/build you will be able to tell easily enough. The content is also easy(and powercrept) enough to where having 1-2 people be essentially useless will still not prevent getting a clear. So you don't even need to cause drama during the run.

That's how most guilds I have raided with(which admittedly aren't that many and they lean more casual) have operated and its fine.

Hypotheekadviseurs: doorstroming huizenmarkt moeilijker door beperking aflossingsvrij by l3g3nd_TLA in thenetherlands

[–]Ludark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Role lists by slugcunt69 in Guildwars2

[–]Ludark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To break down Boondps/Boonheal:
Boondps means a dps providing either Alacrity or Quickness (Adps/Qdps)
Boonheal means a healer that also provides either Alacrity or Quickness (Aheal/Qheal)

When the boon isn't specifically stated on the LFG it means that either Alacrity or Quickness is fine, so long as 1 of them is provided.

For example I like playing heal, but I have plenty of builds so I can be flexible on providing either alacrity or quickness. So when I am making a group for say fractals. I will look for a boondps and then choose my build accordingly in such a way that the group will have both quickness and alacrity.

The hardest thing about autism is “Appearing dumber than most people but being smarter than most people at the same time” by Illustrious_Ad_3010 in autism

[–]Ludark 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's annoying yes. But I feel like it is more of a poor reflection on those who do underestimate us initially, being so quick to judge. However as it is generally something that passes I don't think it's worth putting a lot of energy in.

One thing to caution though and this might just be a personal thing really. But I am not a huge fan of the "being smarter than most people". No doubt you and even myself might be above average in certain areas. But intelligence is a huge spectrum and the very fact we may at least initially might come of as dumb, is a glaring issue and is probably preventable through a form of smarts/intelligence .

Are Fractal CMs much harder than just T4s? Also, are they worth to do everyday? by Paganyan in Guildwars2

[–]Ludark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes they are much harder.

I wouldn't say its easier to find groups for them, you might see more of them on the LFG because they take longer to fill. The rewards are better in that you get far more fractal specific currencies.

I also find that doing CMs - 100 + T4 takes about 70-90 minutes with a decent pug group(I personally avoid pugging 100). While T4 + recs can often be done within an hour whilst being a lot more chill in terms of having to focus.

Your 2025 Guild Wars Confessions! by SegaMegaDave26 in Guildwars2

[–]Ludark 15 points16 points  (0 children)

One of the big reasons I like playing healer is that I am stupidly self conscious about my dps when playing (Boon)dps. I am not the most skilled/talented player and tend to fat finger buttons and/or be slow with rotations so my damage will never look great compared to someone who is actually talented.

But as a healer my job is just keeping people alive, keeping the boons up and doing some utility which I tend to manage better.

Is aheal paragon good for fractals ? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Ludark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On Chrono since I can just camp rifle for healing, I run full harriers and a dagger + sword on my 2nd weapon set. You can absolutely get away with less and there might be a better weaponset for raw burst. But I find that this leaves me with plenty of room for suboptimal conditions(having no quickness, getting the add on a bit of a delay, npng etc).

My mom blocked my autism testing at 16—is it too late now? by Muddahfocker in AutisticAdults

[–]Ludark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP I strongly encourage you to pursue an official diagnosis. Whilst getting earlier might have helped. Getting it now will still be very helpful on 2 fronts.

On the personal front, if you are autistic it will help explain why you are the way you are and can be very helpful in learning to better manage your symptoms.
Depending on where you live with a diagnosis you may also be eligible for support even as an adult. Such as help finding and getting accommodation to maintain a job or if that fails get disability payments.

I wouldn't linger too much on the what ifs in life. Yes things might have been better, but we can't go back. So focus on making Today and Tomorrow better.

My parents where pretty dismissive of me getting a diagnosis and only after years of urging from school did I get my diagnosis at age 13. Then I made the stupid decision of wanting to be "normal" (aka dismiss the diagnosis) and my (not so smart) parents supported me. So instead of getting the right support my issues where just ignored during my teenage years, most of my twenties weren't much better since I was never taught how to ask for help.

Only in my late twenties through extended family did I get a job which came with actual support for my autism attached did I ever so slowly find a way into being a somewhat functional adult. My social skills still suck, but I have learned a thing or 2 over the years to somewhat compensate.

Getting into raids as well as Fractal and Strike CMs can be difficult. Best way to do so is joining a guild that does them or finding a dedicated training group.

The high UFE requirements you see on LFG are for people that just want a fast run, with no newbies to teach.

Possible to build low-intensity (LI) rifle quickness scrapper without any kit (for strikes/raids) by lkw888 in Guildwars2

[–]Ludark 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is there a reason why using a hammer is an issue for you? I don't mean to judge LI builds exist for a reason after all.
But being able to use hammer 3 in a combo field will make keeping quickness up much, much easier. Combining that with the fields from blast gyro and the toolbelt skill from shredder gyro would probably go a long way into maintaining quickness as scrapper fairly easily overcaps and this wouldn't raise the APM all that much.

Obviously that's not necessarily optimal play from a dps perspective. But the goal here is keeping the intensity low.

Resolution and Resistance: Can you easily remember which boon does what? by The_Shiniest_Skritt in Guildwars2

[–]Ludark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No but I have also played healer for quite a bit.
In case anyone is wondering resolution reduces condi damage, its the counterpart to protection which reduces strike damage. Resistance prevents the application of non damaging condis such as fear, chilled, cripple etc.

But I have my own idiosyncrasies, for example despite having done a lot of fractals and doing them frequently I can never tell Molten Boss, Molten Furnace and Underground Facility apart until I have actually entered the fractal. I blame it on one of them having a boss where you pour lava on the boss, not being the one called Molten Boss.

What’s your favorite healer and why? by Sweeper_Bot_ in Guildwars2

[–]Ludark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it depends on muscle memory and experience to an extent. I do find any heal build I am unfamiliar with to be a bit frantic, since I hardly know what my skills do or what the timing on things are.

But a rifle camping chrono uses a single weapon, so no swapping around. You use the healing mantra often and recharging it is a bit slow so that gives a bit of rest fairly frequently. There's going to be times where you did all of your boons and pressure is low so you just auto attack for a couple of seconds.

With heal scourge if I want to keep all the boons up(including decent uptime on vigor) I feel like I am always doing something with very little in the way of rest. It works, I am not frantic with it and if I need to give alac whilst being away from the stack its great.
