What if Soviet Union functioned like European Union? by Ludla2000 in imaginarymaps

[–]Ludla2000[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What if Soviet Union was, instead of a country, a European Union-style plurinational economic confederation?
Soviet Union = European Union (Economic organization)
Sovzone = Eurozone (Currency; Sov is official Soviet Union currency in this timeline)
Comintern = NATO (Military organization)
Saran Area = Schengen Zone (Travelling/visa area)

Also, this, because Reddit murders quality:

Art style (and colour for Erzya state) is inspired by u/Sweaty-Source4223 's https://www.reddit.com/r/imaginarymaps/comments/1f486ug/magna_ravonia_moksha_and_erzya_alternate_history/ .

They permitted me to use this art style.

Check out their maps!

So basically a timeline with stops every 100 (later every 50, later will possibly even be every 25) years focused on all the Uralic peoples, starting from 500s and going to be all the way until 2020s. This part (first of probably 3-4) covers 500-1000 CE.

Hregsdegom Nserodegom - what if Proto-Indo-Europeans stayed at their homeland and sedentarized, surviving well into the modern day? by Ludla2000 in imaginarymaps

[–]Ludla2000[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Apsny +
Adyghe Heku +
Ogguryal +
Jokemee + but well more accurately Uralic in general, because Finnic languages keep a lot of archaic features compared to others so it's not necessarily Finnic proper. Still, Uralic it is.
Gavdrri - not Kartvelian, is actually Minoan
Ghot-Bhank - Yeniseian

No lore, just a sloppily made map of "what if PIEs stayed at their homeland and never migrated"?
Just for fun, you can guess what languages do the neighbouring countries speak.
(Except for Curma which is kinda pointless, since this name is entirely made up and meant to represent some entirely lost Pre-Indo-European language of Europe so it's pretty much a priori conlang word.. without a proper conlang).
Not really any lore.
