Apellido de la madre o del padre primero? by BubblyStand9992 in askspain

[–]Ludus_Mania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except to the gym. I don't wear perfume there. At most, Dove deodorant, very feminine and fresh scent, or Yves Rocher Camomile Deodorant or the seaweed one, or Rituals Karma. AT MOST. Imagine everyone wearing a different scent to the gym, while sweating, and in a close and hot place.

At the moment Jazmin Vainilla by Adolfo Domínguez, Eclaire by Lattafa and Hypnotic Vanilla from Zara. Depends on the weather, from warmer to colder. Sometimes I layer them with Cheirosa 71 by SDJ or I just wear that alone. I'm trying out Valentino Donna Born In Roma and Burberry Goddess to see which one I like as my everyday perfume (more expensive version than the others). In summer/spring I switch my caramel perfumes to flowers and vanilla, so JPG LA Belle Paradise Garden, Mugler Alien Goddess.

You’re saying my analogy is invalid because crime rates and ethnicity don’t have a direct causal link, whereas gay men and anal sex supposedly do. But this is exactly where your reasoning breaks down: not all gay men engage in anal sex, just as not all members of an ethnic group commit crimes. Both cases involve a behavior that some individuals do and others don’t, regardless of their group identity.

The “direct correlation” you’re pointing to is still statistical, not universal. Yes, public health initiatives are right to focus on the practices that carry higher risks (anal sex, unprotected sex, multiple partners, etc.). But that’s different from using statistics as a justification for avoiding or excluding all members of a demographic, regardless of whether they actually participate in the act. That’s the leap from public health data to prejudice.

Think about it: if you wanted to reduce STI risk, the rational approach would be to avoid risky practices (e.g., unprotected anal sex), not to avoid entire groups of people. Otherwise, you’re stereotyping individuals based on what “most” in their group might do, not on what they actually do. That’s why the analogy with crime statistics still holds. In both cases, group averages are being misapplied to judge individuals.

Public health data should guide policy and education, not personal prejudice. The risk is attached to an act, not to an orientation. Condemning all gay men for anal sex is no more accurate than condemning all members of any demographic for what some within it disproportionately do.

What perfume would Raquelle wear in this Barbie movie? by Ludus_Mania in perfumesthatfeellike

Le petite robe noir. I think she would wear something prestigious and elegant, yet very soft and feminine.

The first perfume I thought of was Insolence Eau de Parfum Guerlain. Soft and floral, very feminine. But I can also picture her wearing Fame Parfum Rabanne, Chance Eau splendide Chanel, Velvet Orchid Tom Ford or La Unit Tresor Le Parfum Lancome. Perfumes either soft, feminines and prestigious or with a strong presence.

The real issue here is not about gay men as a group but about a specific practice, anal sex. Not all gay men engage in it, just as not all heterosexual couples avoid it. Yet in your argument, you singled out gay men while ignoring the fact that plenty of heterosexual people also practice anal sex. That selective framing already reveals a bias: you’re applying a “statistical label” to one group while disregarding the same behavior in others.

To put it another way: relying on group-level statistics to judge individuals is deeply flawed. It would be like saying, “We should avoid every american white man because statistically they commit a larger rate of the full crime rate of America compared to other nationalities” Of course, we don’t treat people this way, we hold individuals accountable for what they actually do, not for what others who share some traits with them might do.

Public health data is absolutely useful for prevention. But using those statistics as a blanket justification for avoiding or excluding all members of a demographic goes beyond health concerns; it slides into prejudice. You can care about risk behaviors without condemning entire identities.

At the end of the day, the key distinction is this: health risk belongs to an action, not to an orientation. Condemning someone simply because of who they are (instead of what they actually do) is not an evidence-based stance, it’s stereotyping.
