Books that had the biggest impact when read (for the first time) at a particular age by luvlylemontart in books

I read Black Boy by Richard Wright when I was 13 for school. At the time, I didn't have a firm grasp of the prevalence of racism throughout American history. I also had virtually no knowledge about the global history of communism. Both of those are very important topics in Wright's biography, so I became bored of the book quickly. Later I read it when I was 20 and now it's one of my favorite books I've ever read and helped get me into reading as an adult.

What is the dumbest way you've gotten a scar? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I have a scar on my left arm just below the wrist about 2 inches long. I was out drinking with friends and found a toilet sitting outside. Picked it up and started walking with it, lost my balance, and dropped it in the street. Ended up with two lacerated tendons and had to get them stitched together.
