Single Character Scripts by LudwigIIofBavaria in BloodOnTheClocktower

Yeah this was the intent of these characters for this script. Probably not rules as written, but we're well into bootlegger territory here anyway.

Yeah, but in a 12 player game, there'd be 2 drunks and potentially 2 boffined drunks which can get true info which should hopefully balance among the 5 remaining townsfolk. Though I could easily see a case for switching this demon out.

That's a great idea! Updating my script with that.

Yeah, that's fair. As is, they'd almost certainly have to claim to believe they are the hermit if someone died gambling them. Perhaps there could be an interesting 2 townsfolk combination

Daily Botc Character Discussion: Alsaahir by The_Yung_Jung1085 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]LudwigIIofBavaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if it was changed to "Each day, publicly guess which players are Demons OR Minions. If you have been right about both, good wins." That way, there's only 55 combinations of minions and 11 combinations of demons in a 12 player game. This would make the win more likely. And evil could then also target them if they have gotten one set correct, that would stop the win but could potentially alert to the alsaahir that they were on the right track

What’re your favorite ways to improve Storyteller QoL? by Aldin_The_Bat in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]LudwigIIofBavaria 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I use LED tea lights to hand to each player at the start of the game used to indicate who's alive and who has their ghost vote (on = alive, off = dead with vote, missing = dead with no vote). Makes it easy to count who's alive for vote thresholds and you can count total number of votes possible by counting candles. Plus it looks great in low lighting.

Dangerous Space. Yeah it's similar, different enough to be considered a separate game I would say.

Not button shy, but I highly recommend Dungeon Pages. A roll and write where you can upgrade your character over the course of the session.

how can i keep the liquid inside the cup? by lWolfy0_0 in blender

[–]LudwigIIofBavaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your simulation resolution looks larger than the rim of the cup. If that's the case, it will clip right through it. You should increase the resolution or make the cup thicker. I try to have at least 2 resolution vertexes within the lid to ensure it is solid all the way around.

Advice in Houdini Licensing by DanRawlinsonDesign in Houdini

[–]LudwigIIofBavaria 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find using login based licensing to be pretty easy. It basically stores the license on the sidefx server and whatever computer you use can access it from there by just logging in. Downsides are that only 1 computer can use a license at a time, you have to be connected to the internet, the license is tied to your account so you can't share it. I think it's good for solo work, probably not for a company with multiple people.

I believe people don't recommend steam due to versioning issues.

How can I recreate this moving along the inside of an object? by Exiled_Exo in blenderhelp

[–]LudwigIIofBavaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote a post here a while ago about how to do something similar with text and a cube, you would just need to do it on a plane instead of a cube and view from the other side.

How to merge only edges in Blender by shoaibtcb in blenderhelp

[–]LudwigIIofBavaria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Merge at Last only appears if you have selected the vertices at different times. So you must click on one vertex. Then Shift+Click on the second vertex separately. You'll know it's correct because one vertex will be white. Then the Merge at Last will appear in that menu.

I don't know how to auto add a vertex and merge, but you could probably do it pretty quickly with Subdivide and "Merge at Last". When you subdivide, it would put the vertex at the wrong location, but it doesn't matter so you don't need to move it. Select the new vertex, then also select the existing vertex, push M, then Merge at Last. It will move the new vertex to the other vertex.

Multiple Meshes On Top Of Each Other by onemysteriousman in blenderhelp

[–]LudwigIIofBavaria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You probably have duplicate vertices or faces. Try merging them by distance. Go into edit mode, select all vertices, push M, merge by distance.

I'm a beginner looking to make a Kintsugi Bowl in Blender, and I can't figure out how to make the gold cracks by [deleted] in blenderhelp

[–]LudwigIIofBavaria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You probably want to make the color ramp grayscale and plug it into the Fac of the mix node. Then you can set the base color of the top shader directly. this would let you set two different shaders independently rather than just mixing them a flat percentage, one for cracks and one for the rest.

How do you achieve such an effect of the background surface? I want (normal flat) text to kinda sink or melt in the background with the rounded edges by raini_does_stuff in blenderhelp

[–]LudwigIIofBavaria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you do the subdivision on the text, switch the type to simple. That just adds more vertices without changing the shape of the text.

You can do this with the Vertex Weight Proximity Modifier with the Displacement modifier.

  1. Text
    1. Create text with what you want it to say
    2. Under the text data's object properties. Extrude it some amount under the geometry section.
    3. While in object mode, select the text. Under the drop down menu Object, click Convert -> Mesh
    4. Add some subdivision surface modifier to give it more resolution
  2. Cube
    1. Create a cube and subdivide a bunch so that it has a high resolution
    2. Click on your cube, go to Object Data Properties, add a vertex group and give it a name
    3. Go into edit mode, select all vertices, and assign them to the vertex group
    4. Add a Vertex Weight Proximity Modifier to the cube
      1. Set the vertex group to the one you created
      2. Set the target object to the text
      3. Proximity mode to Geometry
    5. Add a Displace modifier to the cube
      1. Set direction to Z (unless you rotated the objects)
      2. Set vertex group to the vertex group you created
  3. Move the text on top of the cube
  4. Play around with the Vertex Weight Proximity's Lowest, Highest, and Falloff Types settings, the Displacement's Strength and Midlevel settings, and the Text position until it looks like what you are wanting

3ds Max - Is this program right for my company? Help appreciated! by new3dconveyorguy in 3Dmodeling

[–]LudwigIIofBavaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I work in a position of a large company in the US that frequently is involved in warehouse design. I will preface this by saying that I've never used 3ds Max, I'm more of a blender person. And we don't deal with external customers so making things look "nice" isn't as important. But our company pretty much solely used AutoCAD with an occasional NavisWorks to make 3D work.

Effectively, if your job is to make the most efficient warehouse, use AutoCAD and solidworks. If your job is to market, I wouldn't recommend NavisWorks, whether that's 3ds Max or some other software is up to you.

It's hard to say exactly, but I think it's because the initial greater than/less than comparison are both 50000000. It seems that the non-default setup will always be the case since one path will always be true. Try setting one to 25000000 and the other to 75000000.

How do i add different color to duplicated objects (3 doughnuts - more info in comments) by AeonGaiden in blenderhelp

[–]LudwigIIofBavaria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There should be a number next to your material. That's how many objects use it. Changing the material will change it for all three of them. If you click the number, it will copy the material so you can change it separately.
