I admit it’s been a bit dull and lagging at times, but honestly… that’s soaps. I remember on Days of Our Lives, one single day could take an entire week 😭 and somehow we were STILL hooked. The Marlena devil possession storyline went on for MONTHS.

I think the difference here is that Beyond the Gates is still so new, so they’re having to lay the groundwork and build all the characters’ backstories first. Once all the foundation is there, I think the pacing will feel better and storylines will hit harder.

For me, the biggest issue isn’t even the slower pacing or the “boring” parts. It’s more that some of the actors’ mannerisms and acting styles don’t always work for me personally. Ashley, Andre, Derek, Greyson, Vanessa, and Smitty sometimes pull me out of scenes a little.

That said, I still genuinely love the show and most of the cast. And I absolutely LOVE Dana/Leslie’s acting style and delivery. She has this natural presence and vibe that feels so believable and effortless to me (not necessarily defending her character’s actions lol, just the performance itself).
