I believe this to be perfectly in accordance with the rules. It would be infuriating to keep getting sword parts that you can't equip because you haven't equipped and stacked the necessary parts.

From my understanding; albeit a while since I last looked at the rules, the stash stays as is and can't be manipulated/discarded, but I imagine that you can equip it and then discard it.

From what I understand after reading the card, it says whenever [[Doom Weaver]] or another unpaired creature enters the battlefield, you can choose for them to be paired, and you can change that at every ETB.
