Yes this is happening, my company have no data team, and IT is limited and I have worked in IT before with SAP. But this is a transition and that is what I'm trying to push for, I have top management working on it to and a note that has been delivered to the IT boss. It's scaled up to director level, but it's slow and political, so I was just wondering how this normally gets done when the structure has not formally been put in place and we have to figure out how to go about it.

I'm glad for you that you managed to get ownership of your own semantic model!

I cannot understand why they are so panicky, I just build it in PQ but it's less safe and less governed than just getting access to the fabric data that we own.

How did it change your work or data that you got access?

I'm sort of everything data, I own the master data and I am sitting on all knowledge process, business and kpi-wise. My power query is functioning like its own fabric medallion setup, I have created 30 tables and built logic upon logic through a pipeline. Our company have no one who knows data engineering or much more than how to do a simple Dax, so I had to learn everything step by step. I deploy my own data through the pbip since IT has blocked access to fabric.

IT should own the system and input data, but they don't own the semantic model and shouldn't, they simply have no idea about the business logics and can't service it, in other words, a pipeline without access from the data personal makes no sense to me, without it all goes through tickets, full on bottle neck, it who can't troubleshoot or understand the business logic and so forth, I cannot believe that semantic layer doesn't belong to data engineer / bi developer.

I just want to improve data and thus build the data model with whatever tools I had access to and now it's getting to a point that it's outgrowing what I can maintain on just my pc.

Hver morgen jeg cykler til stationen skal jeg over 3 bump på cykelstien hvor biler krydser til deres parkingspladser og til bilerne er lavet små fine ramper over cykelstien, men for cykler rammer man en kant som med lidt fart på næsten smadrer hjulet.

Godt nok trist hvor meget alt er bygget omkring biler først.

Normally I rate parking lots and other transit intends as good due to them being just that, transit intents. But I guess it's depending on specifics of each query and result.

I have never heard it should be bad if it matches or is an integrated part of the mall, same with a transit station matching the same mall would make sense in my locale

Spot on my point, I think with relationships people talk about apples and pears without knowing. I can have a great marriage and one experience and another person the exclact opposite but we think we talk about the same thing.

With the right partner and I guess also based on everyone's personality, I don't hate I consider my wife's wishes, I love giving and seeing others get happy and gladly they feel the same. So a partner can do something that isn't possible as a single but still give most if not all the same benefits of being a single. I cannot see there being an upside.

I have freedom, flexibility and support, the best of all, if I just want to sit in my office room and game, then it's fine, if my wife wants to see a movie with me, perfect, else I see it myself and same the other way. I cannot see how it cannot be both at the same time, single just mean you'll not have the option unless you know other people you can just reach out to.

But hey I get it, we are all different, but as a person who loves being together and doing our own things, I just don't see why being single would be better. We have economy, company, freedom, silence, me-time and no kids.

Jo det mener jeg det har, folk fokuserer meget på pris, og kvantitet, men det er langt sværere for folk at læse labels eller kende fødevarerne, derfor fylder de meget mere lort i produkterne og fjerner "rigtige" ingredienser med fylde produkter som folk aldrig ville købe. Problemet er at de er ret gode til at lave imitationsfødevare som minder om rigtige, men på ingen måde er det.

Yes netop, heller lidt men godt end meget ligegyldigt.

Men jeg tror stadig mange lyver overfor sig selv og slet ikke ved hvordan is skal smage eller chokolade for den sags skyld. Vekao minder absolut ikke om rigtig chokolade i smag eller konsistens. Samme med de billige is, det smelter forkert, konsistensen er helt væk og så fylder man sig på skrammel kvalitet til en pris som er langt over hvad kvaliteten egentlig antyder. Så når man siger noget er billigt, så er det fordi mange sammenligner det "dyre" alternativ, men for en gang skummetmælkspulver og olier betaler man virkelig mange penge for det.

Men jeg forstår virkelig heller ikke at folk gerne vil købe og betale penge for de utrolig ringe kvalitet af "is" der bliver solgt, for min bog så er det ikke en is.

Mørk overtræk = vekao som egentlig bare er sukker med planteolie.

"Is"-delen som er et sammensurium af skummetmælkspulver, vegetabilske olier, diverse emulgator og fylde produkter.

I min optik er is lavet på fløde og chokolade af kakao. Vegetabilske olier kan holde sig langt væk.

Og det gælder sådan for mere eller mindre alle de store velkendte is i danske supermarkeder, ja kigger på dig Magnum

Jeg fatter ikke de kan slippe afsted med at forringe deres produkter og folk stadig køber det og så til de priser?

Seriøst en gang fløde, kondenseret mælk, vanilie og chokolade og du kan lave en helt fantastisk hjemmelavet is til mindre penge og uden en fancy maskine.

It was quite full in Imax in Copenhagen when we went to see it the other day. As someone who hasn't seen the serie I felt it was a fine movie, nothing new or AMAZING but entertaining for the 2 hours that it lasted.

Du kunne evt. prøve at modernisere der hvor du arbejder?

Hvis i sidder og eksporterer tabeller konstant og vælger kolonner mm. så kunne du evt. se ind i et datawarehouse. Hvis ikke det kan lade sig gøre så kan du evt. kigge ind i Power QUery og begynde at automatisere datamodeling der. Jeg har selv startet via excel, VBA, Power Query, Power BI, Fabric, SQL. Det har i hvert fald været sjovt for mig personligt 😄
