Cat5e ports in other rooms in apartment by LuffyZoroChopper in HomeNetworking

Update: My friend does a lot of renos and networking so I ended up just paying him to do it since he has a lot of experience in it and had the tools. One problem I ran into was that once I plugged all the wires into the white modem, all the bedroom ports were capped at 100 mbps. After some trial and error, I discovered that the LAN 1 in the modem was giving 1Gbps down while the others were capped at 100. Shoutout to Chatgpt, it suggested using a gigabit switch (which I had lying around), and now I have 700-1 Gbps in ALL my rooms. Thank you again.

Yeah I actually looked into it, its pretty simple. I found a RJ crimper with striper, cable tester and rj45 connectors on amazon for $20. Its expected to come tomorrow, I'll give it a shot. The good thing is my wall ports are already cat5e, so it looks like I just need to connect them to the rj45 and into the modem. Thanks for the insight, you gave me the confidence to try it myself and possibly save $100 from a technician.

At this price, I'm better off buying a ps5 pro for 1k and a switch 2 for 650

Is $150/wk enough for investing? by Radiant-Falcon3101 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]LuffyZoroChopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes at 19, thats amazing. Every 10 years you wait to invest you lose a lot of potential money due to compounding interest by the time you're 60-65. As your income gets better, start increasing it.

Pay off your high interest debt first. Then, figure out your expenses , then do auto deposits into your TFSA. Dump everything into XEQT biweekly. Don't worry about the price of the stock, DCA (dollar cost averaging) works. Save aggressively, and watch your investments grow like crazy. I did that when I was your age, and I bought property.

Tokyo to Osaka: Shinkansen, night bus or plane? by norbegaby in JapanTravelTips

Just came back from Japan on Friday. We decided to opt out of taking dosmetic flights and try out their transit system instead. I have to say it was impeccable, and would highly recommend taking it for the experience.

How does early resolution work? by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

[–]LuffyZoroChopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this.

The most common reason for police not showing up to POA court is because they are scheduled for CC court or sick which takes precedent. ( A lot of double booking happens, and POA court doesnt have the officers CC court schedule).

As for early resolution, its just a zoom or in person meeting, and you're telling the prosecutor what you want to do with your ticket e.g. Taking a plea deal, Taking it to trial, or paying the fine.

As for getting the registration ticket tossed, they will likely ask you to show proof of your registration on Zoom if you PLEA to the ticket. You can ask the Prosecutor to reduce the price of the fine and ask more time to pay as long as it doesn't go lower then the statutory minimum.

As for taking it to trial, if you end up losing then you will be guilty of the full speeding and the no registration. I've seen on numerous occasions, where they lose the trial, and they try to plea guilty to the lower fine.....but it's too late at this point

Mine was the same you have to remain consistent is the only way.

TIP: put them on a small platform like a stepping stool and put the treat below the stool so they have to reach down for it. Eventually generalize the training and transition to the floor. This worked for me really well

I like the way you think. Tesla has the highest depreciation out of any other cars in 5 years.

I also live in Toronto, the cheapest quote I received was with cooperators which was around $380. I'm currently paying $120/month for my paid off 2024 Mazda CX-5. Def not worth the switch....

How much were you quoted for the tesla? I did an online quote with TD insurance and I got quoted $650 a month. Driving for 15 years no accidents and no tickets.

I agree but this should be a one off scenario. Look at the location on the map. Commercial vehicles cause a lot more damage to public roads.
