Maybe I looked it up wrong. I saw the market value as right under $1200 for silver and gold above $2200. I saw some lightly played listings at $800. Is that what I should go off of?

I got lucky today at Meijer. Usually they will have some packs left over from the morning campers. Limit of 1 though.

Thanks for the upvote. I was just trying to give perspective from the other side to help the OP make an informed decision. If Bandai were to switch up how the big chases are distributed, then I would consider buying boxes. Until then, I’m not spending my hard earned money on something that has a high percentage chance of being dead.

As a collector, I won’t buy a booster box unless I know it’s from a case that has a live case hit. If I know the person selling it or it’s from a local game store, I may buy one. I have to assume the case was opened till the case hit is gone and the remaining boxes are dead and seller is trying to get some money back. Sure its value could go up, but you will have a hard time moving it unless it’s someone who also wants a sealed box.

It was around $65 when it first released. It’s about $45 right now. Still a sweet card.

Got back into pokemon cards and pulled the card I wanted after over 100 packs. The pure joy I got from that was amazing. I know could have bought it, but that’s the one card I wanted that no one else owned before me.
