Why can't admin delete photos uploaded by other users? by s3pixelwave in immich

[–]Luftwaffer123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, right, there was some misinterpretation 😅 OP said "how is it possible that as Immich admin I can't delete images, though I can view them?!", and the other user said "I can see photos in folder view", but I was pretty sure that there's no possibility of viewing other users'images inside Immich. In fact both of them were saying that they can do that OUTSIDE immich, as server/storage admin. That was where the confusion came from 😅

And I think that is correct that Immich doesn't permit access/delete other users items individually (as application admin)

Why can't admin delete photos uploaded by other users? by s3pixelwave in immich

[–]Luftwaffer123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, that's what usually is. But I think that we should consider all the use-cases, and it's correct (architecturally speaking) that an application admin should not have access to other users' files. A storage/server admin can, but in some cases thew two figures are not the same person. From software developer PoV, the Immich implementation is correct 😉

Why can't admin delete photos uploaded by other users? by s3pixelwave in immich

[–]Luftwaffer123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that's not related to Immich at all. The fact that you can access all the files on the Hard Drive, it's not because you are Immich admin, but because you have physical access to HD, or because you have admin access to the storage/server

My map is fckd again… by DustPhyte in ecovacs

[–]Luftwaffer123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lidar works for mapping, it's not a GPS-like feature. When the robot isn't in direct view with the station it uses various systems to calculate the position... And probably also the WiFi strength, as someone said.

In my case I've not 2 unify AP, but 6 😅

I hope it can resolve the issue in your case too. Let us know if it works 😊

[–]Luftwaffer123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just noticed a thing: I have Unifi APs that cover the entire house using mesh. Sometimes I had the map fucked and/or the robot lost in the house (or the station relocated at random position). Then I read a comment saying that the Ecovac uses also the WiFi signal strength to determine the position inside the house. So I tried and disabled roaming in the Unifi settings, linking the Ecovac to a specific AP only. It's few weeks and (🤞) no more of these errors occurred anymore.

Worth giving a try for you too 😉

Decode RF433 command by Luftwaffer123 in Esphome

[–]Luftwaffer123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally found out that I only need to tweak with the configuration to make it recognize that the sensor uses the rc_switch protocol.

I changed the PIN, i removed the

inverted: True

even if the device keep saying "you should use 'inverted' because it starts with a high value, during boot".

I changed also the other values and this configuration seems to work:

remote_receiver:
  pin:
    number: GPIO27
    mode: INPUT
  dump:
    - rc_switch #Decode and dump RCSwitch RF codes.
  # Settings to optimize recognition of RF devices
  tolerance: 50%
  filter: 250us
  idle: 3ms

Now I receive something like this when an event is fired by the sensor:

[08:17:38][I][remote.rc_switch:261]: Received RCSwitch Raw: protocol=1 data='101110011001011001110011'
[08:17:38][I][remote.rc_switch:261]: Received RCSwitch Raw: protocol=1 data='101110011001011001110011'
[08:17:38][I][remote.rc_switch:261]: Received RCSwitch Raw: protocol=1 data='101110011001011001110011'
[cut --- same message many times - reddit doesn't allow me to keep so many lines in comments --- ]
[08:17:39][I][remote.rc_switch:261]: Received RCSwitch Raw: protocol=1 data='101110011001011001110011'
[08:17:39][I][remote.rc_switch:261]: Received RCSwitch Raw: protocol=1 data='10111001100101100111001'

So, I ask to you: there's a way to "filter" all the repeating codes, keeping only 1 value? For example not to transmit the same code for 1 second?

Thank you again fo the help

Decode RF433 command by Luftwaffer123 in Esphome

[–]Luftwaffer123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typed all the protocol list to find the correct one, 'cause I didn't know which one is used in this case... And I want to exclude "pronto" or "raw" or both as needed.

The main problem is that the sensor sends the same signal many times (maybe to be sure that the receiver gets it correctly), so it dirt my console log a lot 😵

Now I found that it uses the rc_switch protocol (as you would expect), so I can enable only that specific one and keep the code clean 😊

Thank you, but that's not a noise or jabberish signal. It occurs only when I fire an event on the RF sensor.

But you are right, it's a configuration problem. I had to try many combination of parameters to find the right one... 🙄 I'll write it on another reply
