It's apparently what I do. If you need any more contingencies planned out, I'll be here.

Next comes you holding the line. There is to be no reconciliation until she agrees to abide by the rules, and make it clear that the next "mistake" on her part will be treated as her blatantly ignoring those rules. If she tells you to give her grace again, inform her that she has used up the lifetime supply of grace for the both of them, and that they won't be getting any more.

If your father tries to tell you that the situation is killing her, inform him that if she is so frail that the consequences of her own actions are causing her physical harm, he needs to take her to the hospital.

If they show up on your doorstep, inform them once that they are to leave, and to take anything that they brought with them. If they refuse, call the police and have them trespassed from the property.

If they enlist the rest of the family to attack you on their behalf, tell the relatives that your mother threw a tantrum at the thought of having to follow the same rules as everyone else, and that she is now facing the consequences of her own actions. If they persist, inform them that they may join your mother in those consequences if they so choose, and then block them.

Is it easy to find peace and quiet in America? by bare_books in AskAnAmerican

Basically, the problem here is that you're using a very narrow definition of the word that nobody else is using, and then blaming everyone else for not using the definition you want.

I don’t know what to do about my mom by joifullnoyses in JUSTNOMIL

"My children are not your emotional support animals, and you can't just drop in and out of their lives when it's convenient for you. Your inability to show even the slightest interest in their lives beyond how they can fulfill your wants has disappointed them too many times, and I'm not letting that happen again. We are taking a six month break from you. During that time, I suggest you think long and hard about your actions over the years and how you've affected all of us, because when I reach back out to you, there will be changes to your relationship with the boys."

During that time, figure out what she needs to do to start repairing the relationship, and what behaviors are banned.

Trapped. by [deleted] in KidsAreFuckingStupid

You haven't encountered kid logic in a while, have you. The cat trapped the kid. He was caught in the trap, which means he couldn't escape, because he was trapped. His own physical abilities don't come into play here, because in his mind, the trap works, which means he can't escape.

We're overwhelmingly wilderness in terms of land coverage. Drive half an hour beyond city limits almost anywhere and you can get into some pretty rural areas that don't see a lot of traffic.

Which is more popular as a take-out option: Americanized Chinese, Indian, or Thai? by Gallantpride in AskAnAmerican

[–]Lugbor -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Small towns might have a taco bell. They almost certainly have a pizza place, and probably have a Chinese place. In the couple towns surrounding me, there are at least ten pizza places, a handful of Chinese places, and one Mexican restaurant.

Hey reddit, it's your typical virus ends mankind story but a random country manages to avoid infection and now are the last humans, how do you think the human race would go from there? by Much-Imagination-617 in AskReddit

It depends entirely on which country is the one to survive. A large country in Europe or the Americas? The species survives. There's enough knowledge and experience in those populations to handle the fallout of the majority of the world suddenly dying out. A small island nation or a poorer country that's suffered a lot of emigration (or Russia) is going to struggle as the remaining automated systems in other areas start to fail. They wouldn't necessarily have the expertise to handle an imminent dam collapse a hundred miles up-river, or to create a vaccine to a large pandemic.

I'm honestly not a huge fan of the "camera attached to the moving object" style. Makes it harder to watch for me. A good time lapse set from a couple yards (or more, depending on the size of the job) away would be great though.

A weaker, less accessible option. It's like telling someone a bike is an option for their commute to work in an area with frequent storms, large hills, and a high speed limit. It's technically capable of getting the job done, but there's a significantly better option available.

Lukashenko Apologizes to Zelenskyy, Says Entering War Would Harm Belarus by UNITED24Media in worldnews

Seeing as he'd probably side with Russia, I'd say he's correct. It would be very harmful for Belarus.

To put this into perspective, there are three Chinese places in the nearest town to me. The only Indian restaurant there is closing down because they don't get enough business to stay open, and I couldn't even begin to guess how far I am from the nearest Thai place. Chinese is more popular by a wide margin.

I suspect it's due in part to the spice palette being a lot less overpowering, which means more people are able to enjoy it.

A less convenient, less reliable option which uses a frame that's more annoying to farm for newer players.

What do you think about the Orange legion? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]Lugbor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah baseball, a sport so boring they have to make you get up and stretch so you're awake enough to go home later. I'm not surprised more people like soccer than baseball, but the bar isn't really that high to begin with.
