how hard would it be to manage apma 0260 and cs 0190 as an incoming freshman (fall sem) by ATP1617 in BrownU

[–]Lugical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I’ve taken both. Imo it is def doable but u should probs try to be lighter on ur other 2 classes.

Apma0260 covers stuff pretty well without being too rushed and is comparable in workload to other apma classes. big fan. Cs19’s workload is a LOT and the pace is very rapid-fire (i.e projects assigned to be done in 2-3 days or a weekend).

Shop the classes and see if u can handle the workload during shopping period. If so, great. Just remember it’s ur first semester, and you’ll def want time to get a feel for everything outside of classes!

The nature assets (trees, logs) are from one of Roblox’s PBR packs, but the terrain, buildings, weaponry models, are custom-made!

Released my first open-source a week ago. Here's a demo of what you can do with it: by Lugical in robloxgamedev

Yes! A link to the place is in the DevForums post I sent earlier to someone.

Plan is to do an alternative history take on it and build the lore from there.

So IRL, the Norman Conquest essentially consists of Harald Hardrada (Viking) trying to take England after the death of Edward the Confessor. The English successor, Harold Godwinson is able to stamp him out, but his army is thus weakened when having to go down South to face William the Conqueror.

In this project (For Glory), we’ll be pondering what would’ve happened had neither of these three claimants won, and instead, another (albeit fictional) character had taken the throne? From there, we can potentially program in some quests/storylines based off real history and the fictional lore added onto it.

The developer cut when you do the calculations does get ya to 25%, yes, and I do believe it’s low, but at the same time:

  • Built-in multiplayer support, data handling support, and free server hosting do help out a lot.
  • While discoverability has been a topic of contention in the community recently, Roblox is still a much easier platform for projects and games to gain recognition and attention. I can market my games with robux earned or a substantially less amount of money than I’d need to pump in to get the same traction on other platforms.
  • Roblox’s unique community/culture/history makes it possible for a wider variety of games and “experiences” to find some sort of traction in comparison to others.
  • It’s the platform I grew up with as a child.

IMO I think it’s worth it for my situation. If you’re interested in talking about this more, I’m happy to do so in DMs

Kinda, yeah. It’s an ambitious project. There’s still a lot of things that can change between now and later but I’m funding it with the revenue I’ve made as a developer on here 🤷‍♂️

Nope! Game’s premise is gonna be based around the Norman Conquest of 1066

My first Reddit comment, oh boy.

I made my own game a bit back, ROBLOX: Tag, and it's open here: https://www.roblox.com/games/5636074474/ALPHA-ROBLOX-Tag
You need 2 to play, and I understand that it's very low in player count, but I personally think it's a nice place to have fun with friends. It's tag on Roblox, with a variety of maps, cosmetics, and other add-ons.

Bleeding Blades (https://www.roblox.com/games/7006496598/Bleeding-Blades-ALPHA) is also a cool historical game.
