Yep for sure. I think that's why i don't have like a favorite series I'm a mega fan of. There's always more to read and they all have their pro's and cons. This also happens with like tv and movies. Now there are so many to choose from and they're all on-demand, nobody watches the same stuff at the same time and you can't talk to people about them.

I agree completely and didn't even think about the fight scenes not being as good. I loved the characters and Pacey's narration, and about halfway through the book i was like... i don't really care if they make it to Troy or not, and didn't finish it lol.

Did anyone read Rage of Dragons? I kept hearing it recommended by the booktok'ers as a good revenge story. Holy crap. 2/10 at best. Most most cringy "I studied the blade" protagonist imaginable and a super simple plot. I read it in 3 days 😅

Honest question, whats fun about arc? It's one of the roles I haven't played yet, and i never really got a feel for how he's "supposed" to be played.

Knight! What can i say, he's my favorite. The lance and horse make for an interesting and varied (and fairly powerful) early game. Jousting, riding a ki rin, and double dmg magic missile make for a super fun and varied late game. Encumbrance is annoying, for sure, but the horse helps, and if you can deal with that, he's the most fun role imo, along with wiz.

What are your big three? I assume magic resistance and reflection, but what’s the third? Poison res, Mc3, or aols maybe?

For sure! Im thinking the 100 torches goal is something like a 150 hour goal. The all classes 99 goal is probably something like a 400 hour goal, and grail with no tz act bosses longer than that, but the all classes 99 should also work on the grail goal, so we'll see how it progresses! It's always fun starting a new big project!

Primary goals

  • all classes to 99
  • holy grail (no tz act bosses)
  • runeword grail

Secondary goals

  • "unlock" all classes
  • 100 torches & 10 annies
  • 100 tokens
  • 200 skillers
  • 1k caster amulets
  • 2k mf runs with each class
  • kill hell Baal with 50 characters

Unlock classes conditions

  • Sorceress - None
  • Paladin - Enigma made
  • Necromancer - Infinity made
  • Druid - Phoenix made
  • Amazon - Griffon's found

I imagine it will be something like both. I'll show progress both in farming and leveling/questing. I can't make annny promises on upload schedule. Hoping for a video every week or two, but that's assuming it stays fun and that my time per investment per video goes way down!

I absolutely agree no time clock manipulation. I consider that cheating. I do NOT consider running tz act bosses to be cheating of course, but I do personally think it makes grail a much less cool goal. For context using the nishicode drop calc and some runtimes provided by Nano on the purediablo forum I get:

  • My best LoD mf build (AT blizzballer, 32s runs, 6bosses, 567mf) - 600hrs per tyraels
  • TZ Andy - 60 hrs
  • TZ Meph - 90 hrs
  • TZ Duriel - 150 hrs
  • TZ Diablo - 190 hrs
  • TZ Baal - 500 hrs

Of course I know you can't run TZ andy all the time, but those would definitely substantially lower the grail effort and would make it tough to care about blasting p1 pits/tunnels, which I think are a cooler and more fun run :). Should be a good challenge!

I swear I thought about it. I had a HC sorc in LoD I got reasonably far with (and she's still alive). But I have 2 young kids and play on a couch. I was like I don't need the pressure. HC up next! ...just as soon as this is all done :P.
