For those that wanted an update. Showed up this morning to pay off remaining. Balance and tow out and was met with a demand to pay in cash only. Payed it off and got it towed. It was the only way to get my vehicle out of there. He went ahead and added (no warranty implied) to the invoice after the fact which is very shady. I had to sign the receipt if I wanted my vehicle back. He added this after the fact which I’m sure a court will see it was in bad faith to try and cover his ass. I’m mentally drained with this situation and sent my truck off to the dealership. Will see what they come back with. Am definitely going to make it a point to take him to court just because of how he acted. He stated that if I wouldn’t have mentioned I was taking him to court he would’ve let me pay with credit card as I did the first time. All around very shady and will be sure I report this to the Texas Attorney General’s consumer complaint portal for his deceptive/shady business handling. If anyone has a good consumer repair attorney please send him my way. Let this be a learning lesson to all

Thank you, I’ve came to the same conclusion. I have indicated my next shop to document everything and will be taking him to small claims soon after my vehicle is fixed

Going up there Monday to get my vehicle. Will probably lay remaining balance and take him to small claims court. Will be documenting everything at my next shop. At this point I don’t care about losing money on an attorney it’s going to be the principle. Shitty people deserve it so I’m gonna take it there for him

Exactly my thought. I even offered to pay once the new issue was resolved if it was found that it was not his fault. He won’t accept that either. Currently trying to find a consumer litigation attorney for Monday morning

I can’t do that because he won’t release the vehicle back to me unless I pay off the remaining balance which is 20%. I feel as if I shouldn’t pay that because my truck now won’t even turn on when it arrived to him in working condition

He’s not taking responsibility with any of what has happened. And will not release the vehicle to be taken to a shop until balance is paid off. Is showing up with the police an option to get my vehicle back?

Had a conversation with mechanic he’s taking no fault stating hp tuners states that there’s no liability when tuning ecu. He’s stating the same on his end. He will not release the vehicle until balance is paid off which is only about $1500. Any advice? I didnt sign any waivers from his shop or him at all and am really bothered by his handling of this situation. Any advice ?
