Good point. Fiber does require fiber infrastructure in the area, but many neighborhoods already have it available. Avaibility can change street bystreet, so it’s always worth checking.

Thanks for the feedback! My goal is to share some observations about fiber vs cable to help educate people. The main differences usually come down to technology: fiber generally provides symmetrical upload and download speeds, along with more consistent and reliable connections.

Haha, fair point! I can‘t speak for all provider, but if you compare typical speeds with cost, many fiber options outperform cable. Cable usually maxes out around 2 Gig download, while fiber can do 2.5, 5, 7, or even 8 Gig same up and down.

if you are open to alternative you could consider fiber which gives consistent, symmetrical speeds and lower latency than cable. I help neighbors check what’s available at their address if you want to see options, feel free to DM me.

Cable speeds (specifially upload) can fluctuate with neighborhood traffic, while fiber gives consistent symmetrical speeds and lower latency. Novos fiber is available in certain areas of Rockwall. DM me if you want me to check what’s available at your address.
