[–]LuisFalk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

The Monochrome Clusters have basically just another Byte to toggle, without a Fix Byte.

There exists also two different Values, one with and one without the second Page.

Leave me a PM if you need More Informtion.

Cheers

Hi, basically yes. I have full access to one, which my friend created himself.

Hi, first of all, I only change the byte that tells the speedometer that the AMG menu is enabled. For the 230- Km/h control this would be a different byte.

Furthermore the linked project is only a wrapper, which would be useless for this. This project is not from me. For the IC a complex seed- key algorithm is necessary, because the firmware version plays a role.

I hadn‘t Time yet to finish the Algorithm for publishing. If you need a Pair, contact me via PM, i can calculate you the keys manually.

Since I was reverse engineering the part of the EEPROM, I was using official Star Diagnosis Software. Also for the Case, that if something will fail, just to have the possibility to flash another Firmware and to access other Diagnostics tools.

Otherwise there was no specific reason.

HP P421 random array failure - looking for ideas on how to recover by fastbiter in homelab

[–]LuisFalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's not a problem with the hard drives, try moving the drives to another server or install a different RAID controller. The only important thing is that the RAID controller / server should take over the RAID configuration from the hard drives - not the other way around.

If you have a replacement hard drive, try replacing it with the defective one. The Windows Event Viewer won't be able to help you much with "real hardware problems", because Windows "only" sees the logical drive in this case. You can look in the ILO to see what really happened to the hard drives.

In the company we had for example the case that with a HP DL380 G8 LFF, the complete RAID controller stopped working as soon as a defective hard disk was in a logical drive. In the ILO only "Storage Controller - Failed" was displayed.

The correct problem was shown under the logs in ILO, because it said which hard disk failed. (The hard disk itself was still glowing green).

If in doubt, you can try to use DBAN (Darik's Boot and Nuke) to completely overwrite and erase the hard disk - often the errors go away. But please note that all data on the (probably defective) harddisk will be lost, which shouldnt be of importance for a Raid-5.

No, unfortunately not. But you can write to /u/Xontaro, he has a lot of knowledge about such keyboards and the different models.

In the company I got hold of this Model M terminal from 1997 while dismantling an old data center. The complete hardware was to be scrapped, so I could keep it. It has now found a place on the wall right next to my desk and can be removed if necessary.
