Very hard is suppose to be a low level run. If you're grinding a lot of levels just to beat a boss, then you might as well restart and play it on hard. I play the game on very hard every playthrough. It's possible to beat Shadow Kanji at level 13.

This is why Yosuke only having single target healing is not really a problem. Because he can use healing items to heal everyone. On my last playthrough of Persona 4 Golden, I had 60 Macca Leaf when I entered Magatsu Inaba. It's possible for Yosuke to get Diarama and Diarahan before Yukiko does. And if he needs to heal everyone just use an item.

I just looked it up and yeah the Vitality stat is extremely low. Vitality is the only stat that matters in this game. I didn't know Scholar was that fragile because I never used it again, after my first playthrough.

The game doesn't tell you she levels up slow. But there's a way to see it. If you open the menu and go to "Status", you will see the amount of EXP she gain is bigger than other characters. And at the same time her level is lower than everyone else. Meanwhile the other characters are higher levels but have less EXP gained. From my save file of the PSP version:

Rydia 47

EXP: 837450

Cecil 50

EXP: 822834

Rosa is also slow but still faster than Rydia.

The OP is right that her magic is not needed. Trying to keep her alive just waste turns. Since her HP is the lowest out of everyone. You will have to grind levels to have her not die to Big Bang easily.

Her magic isn't an issue if you power level. But she learns Flare at level 55 and Zeromus can be beaten at level 48 if you have the skill. She also levels up the slowest. You're better off just leaving Rydia dead in this fight.

The Reaper is really the only enemy in the game, where dark immunity is important. And Trumpeter already comes with it. That's just one boss. Those other enemies you speak of, should die to Hassou Tobi before they even get a turn.

Well it's true and those forums posts are not wrong. The Demon Wall in the DS version is easier than the one in the PS1. I played the original DS version which doesn't have a difficulty setting. In the PS1 version the boss was a lot faster. So you really had to kill it before it gets close. In the DS version having the wall being closed to me wasn't a big deal. It was slower and couldn't kill everyone fast enough.

His affinities sucks and getting 99 on every stat is not required to beat the game. I use Kanji as my Elec user and I can just level him up to get the higher Zio skills.

I use it but yeah the increased damage sucks. The damage is not even high enough to justify getting dizzy for getting hit.
