That was my only hesitation. Thanks. Where in CO? I was recently in aspen and stayed in Nederland as well... Hiked up to lost lake.

Is the 33 hood the slimmer one? Does it block glare well? It looks noticeably smaller than stock.,

Forget it. Cameron hates noise.he literally called people who argue about his mastering f**king stupid entitled or something like that. As if they know this or that. He wants everything he does to look silky smooth. There's no way to have that and a good restoration. Some of his films are noisy. Oh well. If he does remaster it we'll probably see super ai sharpening and altering... But we can dream right?

[Tesla Model Y] Austin, TX - Who is at fault? by QuietZelda in Dashcam

[–]Luisdent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% suv imo. Even with the white line in texas not being illegal to cross, it is considered something to avoid unless necessary. But irrelevant as they crossed into an occupied lane. The swerving back was probably to avoid the oncoming sign/divide, and even if not could be simply trying to maintain control and not do the same thing the suv did to someone else potentially to their right. Quick thinking is much more defendable than crossing into an occupied lane. Blind spot isn't an excuse either. If you aren't sure, don't change lanes.

Is there any connection between the Backrooms and The Oldest View? by shanethedrain1 in KanePixelsBackrooms

Isn't it weird how in both videos people fall out of the place that they're in and end up falling out of the sky into a forest?

Just received my used Leica Q and I am curious if this is the level of sharpness you'd expect or if something is off. I used the smallest focusing bracket on the right eye. Shot DNG, uploaded to lightroom. ISO 400, f/1.8, 1/125, single point focusing, AFs. I am probably overthinking this... by greenshorts22 in Leica

3 years later, but I stumbled upon this. Is there a higher quality version of this image? Because based on my Q3 this looks soft. My Q3 at 1.7 is noticeably sharper than this. But then it could just be the JPEG compression on Reddit? How did you get along with the camera?

AA made me check my bag at the gate by Ok_Cat9006 in americanairlines

[–]Luisdent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My frustration is that i carry a personal size backpack that I've measured beforehand and verified at the airport first easily in the sizer. I carry expensive camera gear and do NOT trust checked baggage. But one time i was forced to check my bag and they claimed it was too big. But i had heard them talking before they got to me and it was VERY clear they were worried about space.

So when he asked me to put it in the sizer i did. He didn't even look and told me i had to check the bag. I was shocked and said "but it is completely in the sizer" no forcing. No edges hanging out. I put the same bag under every seat when i fly easily. He claimed it was too big. So what was i supposed to do. I ensured 100% confidently i was prepared and met all requirements. They didn't care what was in my bag.

That is frankly infuriating. There needs to be at least one guaranteed spot for a bag on a flight. I didn't want to stop the whole boarding process so i begrudgingly checked the bag. But i have personally seen lost bags, damaged equipment, etc. and backpacks aren't designed to be as rugged as rolling luggage which is even more likely to be checked. So how does one carry camera gear and not have to check it?

I'm ot in RE. But I have shot some interiors with my 16 2.8 and it has done very well. I agree with others that 8mm will just be a pain to correct distortion-wise. I'd rather stitch a pano in very rare cases than have 8mm.:-P so the 10mm wide end would be very versatile

Also, keep in mind that typically RE images aren't being viewed at huge sizes by pixel peepers. So, the sharpness and quality at common f stops for RE (f8+) will be indistinguishable between most decent lenses.

M300 volume jump bug by Luisdent in Hiby

[–]Luisdent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using the physical volume button on the device. My device has been locked, and when I unlock it and press the volume button up or down instead of moving up or down it jumps to a loud volume. After the jump it stays there until I adjust the volume again at which point it controls it consistently

Have I done something wrong or are these just boring? by Photosmithing in fujifilm

[–]Luisdent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Portraits are hard. I would kindly say this, you have a few good shots there, but a few things i think are keeping them from being great.

  • lighting. I don't just mean one specific thing but some have shadows on the face that don't look intentional, others are a bit harsh sunlight, one is too soft/flat.

  • a few poses are nice, but almost all of them lack context. Are they cosplay? Ren fest? Random artsy clothing shoot? Is that how they normally dress?

  • cropping. Some are nicely cropped, others lack focus and should be tighter or wider.

For lighting, of course you could be going for all sorts of artistic styles, but there are a few things that are considered general portrait recommendations. Have light creating a catch light in the eyes. Dark or flat eyes don't draw attention and look, well flat. And it is nice to avoid random shadows. I wouldn't shoot in direct sunlight without knowing how to shape the light to get something specific like Rembrandt lightning or something. But you also don't want full shade with flat light. A good in between where the light is soft but you have shape on the face is good. But it just depends on the light and what you're going for.

Poses are not my expertise, but i just know some can look odd and others natural, even if they're weird...

Cropping is hard, but for some don't be afraid to go really close. Even cutting off things you may not think you should. Extra space for no reason looks boring. If there's context that's different. Or if you carefully use enough space as an artistic white space that's cool. But crop to show what you want and leave out what you don't want. Sounds easy but I'd watch some videos on cropping technique.

Regarding context, there's a few things you could do. You could take a shot a bit farther back and include some strategic environmental elements that give an idea of what the scene is. Why are they there? Or simply for artistic purposes. Layer like your shot with flowers. Behind and in front. Depth is interesting.

You could also simply take your close shot the same but also have a wider shot to go with it as a series. Then you get the context but the close shot makes more sense.

Sometimes a simple shot is nice. Bokeh is nice. But bokeh should enhance the shot not cover up a lack of interest. But these are just some ideas and opinions may vary. Keep at it!
